Done with my class time....

I just got over with the class. Today I conducted an hour and half of class and last half an hour of the class was for some art and craft activity. I am going to share the pictures and make a post once the project is completed. From this week I am conducting separate classes for my two special needs children. Video classes in group was not helping them. So I am coordinating with subject teachers and taking their classes separately. It's working better with them. Their parents or caregiver assist them from their side. Now it's time for lunch. I am cooking and mylotting on my phone My daughters will be free in sometime for lunch. They get a break around 1:30 for lunch and the last class goes from 2 to 3. So I have next half an hour to be here After lunch, I need to wash dishes and clean kitchen. I will take a short nap before my other online Maths class that starts at 3:40 in afternoon. So for next 30 minutes I will be reading the new posts and responding to them. Would also knock off a few notifications. I wish I had my laptop. I could be faster and more productive.

I think you would need to be very organised to cope with your various duties.

Yes. Due to these online classes work has increased. We need to do some recording of video, some power point and also the live classes. And with special children concentration and listening to instructions on a video is tough.

@arunima25 I remember those days when my kids were still home. Now my kids are grown with families of their own and I am retired. My life has slowed down a lot.

@simone10 I have few more years left. My daughters are teens now and soon they will be leaving in few years. I want to have my time but I fear empty nest syndrome more than that.

It definitely saves the commutation time and the stress of traffic. Teaching special needs children online comes with it's own set of issues.

@arunima25 here, the traffic is the most dreaded. Working from home is now over and my wife has to go to the office for the 2nd week now.

It's doing okay with one on one session but still not as effective as real physical classes. With special needs there are limitations. But still it's something better than nothing situation in this pandemic crisis.

Actually here the schools have reopened after summer vacation for a new academic year. We had a two months vacation in April and May. Since we closed in mid March due to pandemic, we opened a week earlier.

I'm sure it must be difficult to teach special needs children online, but one on one must be better Han in a group setting for them as well as for you. Enjoy the rest of your day.

Yes. This one on one is working better. But I feel for the parents and caregivers. They have to assist and they don't get any time to breathe. At least when children went school they had some time to breath and relax. These parents need it more than others.

I think teaching online will the trend in the future but not for those in the traditional school, yet they are forced to follow this trend due to this Corona pandemic. Yet, teaching online can be done online and even at home so the instructor has the flexibility in conduct the class.

@Acefun Yes. These all have shortcomings. On a lucky day all seem to be work well.Though it is for short time as they had short attention span even in their best behaviour.

Yes. But it misses the charm of a live interactive class where we learn lot more about life than only academics. And teaching a special needs through online classes is really challenging .

@arunima25 Oh, you are giving lesson to those special needs. Yes, it is a challenging thing especially the network is not stable or they are unable to focus on what is projected from your side. However, the latter one can be solve by having another person to look after them. For the network issue, it is really depends on luck sometimes.

Yes it does. My school is anyway 10 minutes walk from my home. I take 15 minutes in car. So I prefer walking or cycling. Online classes for special needs children are quite challenging.

@jayanth_77 Yes. It's tough but we have to manage for time now. I feel bad for the parents and caregiver. They have to assist and they don't get any breathing time.
