I may have to open a complaint

I saw a type of tea from the Traditional Medicinals brand that I wanted to try. I've never seen it in stores, and so I looked at my usual place to buy such things. They didn't have it, and so I began to try another place but found it cheaper by an ebay seller.
Ebay Seller
I didn't look through all the reviews, if I had I wouldn't have bothered with it. It's only been four days since I've ordered it, but now that I've looked at the reviews, it seems more and more people are complaining about non delivery and non communication from the seller. I hope I won't have to file a complaint, but I will because that's $12.00 out of my pocket that I want back! Plus, well I could use the tea now!
I'm not going to purchase another one elsewhere, not until I'm sure that the seller isn't going to ship it.
When was the last time you had trouble with an online seller?

It's been a while. It was a 3rd party seller through Walmart.com; and they compensated me for my order and my trouble.

That's good! I'm glad that it was all compensated for! It's a headache having to deal with the back and forth though.
I'm sitting here considering how / what my next steps will be. I am guessing I should contact seller first, but from all the reviews, it seems that doesn't do any good either. I'll make sure I pay attention to the reviews from here on out!

Ebay 2007.
I won an auction for a brand new 7500 pound bike.
Nothing in the terms just payment through bank transfer on or before delivery plus 150 delivery fee to mainland UK.
Heard nothing for a day so contacted the seller.
He said as the bike had a waiting list he was looking to get above retail price, the price I won at was below rrp so he didn't want to honour that price.
I said it was legally binding according to ebay and heard nothing back so complained.
To cut a semi long story short I never got the bike

@Mike197602 The one time I did try to sell on ebay, I was halted because I could not just upload images from my phone to the ebay app. I wasn't going to spend hours upon hours upon hours uploading them to the computer just to do ebay that way.
I had a vague idea that you could buy things like cars on ebay, but I've never gone about looking how it would be done.

@ScribbledAdNauseum overall I've been quite lucky with ebay.
I've bought 2 motorbikes and sold one and also bought a car.
First time buying a car I won the auction and said I'd pay cash and flew up to Glasgow and met the guy in the airport car park...exchanged details and money then drove back down it was an experience and went well.
I bought 2 bikes and hired a van with my sister and we went to salisbury loaded the bikes, went to a bank and did a transfer all good.
My first and only sale was my gsxr 750.
A guy in scotland bought it and we agreed a delivery fee and he would pay by bank transfer.
Myself and a mate hired a van drove up to inverness and it all went very very well.
for some reason my account is suspended (not used since 09) but I'd buy/sell on ebay again but for high price items I would always do it in person.

Husband does a lot of selling on eBay, and he gets so frustrated by buyers! It's especially annoying because eBay tend to side with the buyer and he's been left out of pocket a couple of times. No issues with buying usually, thankfully.

My ex boyfrend is an ebay seller and he has told me how annoying it is that ebay sides with the buyer. Probably the path of least resistance for them.

Like now only it's not the seller, it's the delivery partner Pitney Bowes that is giving me trouble.

@JESSY3236 Right, it's in the US and less than 12 hours away as well. So it doesn't explain why it's stuck.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They don't have a phone number for the GA facility. I did contact them on facebook and all they said it is that it is going take weeks for China products (I told them the package is coming from China). But it's in the US now.

I can understand wanting to receive the item first. Unfortunately, that's not the way it works here. There is trust when we send a payment though, and if we do not receive the item we get our money back. Even if we have to fight the seller and / or report them for non delivery.

My daughter ordered a prom dress from a Chinese company. It came ripped and with black marker on it. The company returned my emails, told me how to return the item for a refund. I sent it out and never heard from them again. They stopped answering my emails and never returned the money. My daughter ended out buying the exact same dress online from an American company.
I use Traditional Medicinals. Specifically Eater's Digest for my stomach and Echinacea Plus. I usually buy them at the Bulk Barn (a bulk food store which also sell products in boxes). I don't know what type of tea you are looking to purchase but I don't have any problem with the products. I think they are excellent.

@ScribbledAdNauseum When purchasing clothing from China you always have to buy up a size or two. Their sizes are very small.

Oh, I've used Traditional Medicinals before which is why I wanted to try this (Healthy Cycle) one. It's not traditional medicinals that I am buying from directly, but an ebay seller.
Oh yeah, I once bought a shirt that looked like it was going to be very big, I bought my size and well, it came, but it wasn't what I thought it would be. I didn't try to return it becuse it wasn't worth my hassle. I hate that your daughter had that trouble!

I've only had one issue over the past ten years or more. I purchased a baby sleigh bed. After waiting the appropriate time and not getting a response, I did file a complaint and got my money back. The bed was out of stock and the seller was waiting for more to arrive. I didn't want to wait so requested a refund.

Oh, well it would have been nice had the seller mentioned that at the beginning, wouldn't have been?

@simone10 Right, but I feel like a person who uses a drop shipper needs to note somewhere that processing might take longer than is estimated.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Yes, that's true. I think he might have used a drop shipper and sometimes you don't know something is out of stock until you try to place an order.

I had trouble with the site Swagbucks. I earned 50.00 and put it into an ebay gift card. I ordered things with the gift card from ebay. The card did not work. Ebay folks tried and tried to help me. No go. I complained to Swagbucks. They said that I'd ordered it and too bad. Really maddening. I lost fifty cause of them.

I don't use SB anymore, heard too many horror stories, and honestly they stopped being worth it to use for me. I"m sorry you had that trouble. I never did like their policy of "not my problem"

@sallypup I used to talk to someone who did online tasks for money. He opened a high yielding savings account for that purpose so he could earn more. I know someone here does that too. The money I earn goes towards my bills as well.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Savings accounts have practically zero value these days. My highest yielding account is from a credit union and I think its just over one per cent. Regular banks are totally stupid- .10 or less. Might as well say zero.

@Butterfingers I hope so, but usually sellers on ebay take less than two days to say they've shipped an item.
