Grinning From Ear to Ear

Happy Thursday Everyone! a beautiful sunny day here this morning and the temperatures are getting into what feels like summer. Looks like a fairly warm day ahead. Yesterday was a busy day for me. I didn't have time to spend here so I'm behind in my notifications. Both daughters went to Sams Club decked out in masks, etc. No lines and everyone was keeping with the social distancing. That's the good news. The bad news....hardly any meat. They had rotisserie chickens but only wings if you didn't want the rotisserie. No ground beef but they did have London broils and beef cubes. Other than the meat shortage it seems they were able to get everything else. After Sams Club they picked up pizza and my two grandkids and came here for lunch. It's the first time since quarantine that we've all been together. It was such a wonderful afternoon even though we didn't hug or kiss. It was so nice seeing them especially since they only live on the other side of the cornfield. By the time they left I was smiling ear to ear. I can't even remember everything else that made Wednesday zip by. Today I feel energized and all those quarantine blues seem to have disappeared. I knew I missed my family but I didn't even know how much until I actually saw them in person. I hope everyone who is missing their family gets to see them soon. It's the best medicine in the world. Today we're back to the daily routine. Don't even have to figure out what to make for dinner....we still have leftover rotisserie chicken that we had last night. Hope everyone is having a good day

I am glad you were able to see your family. I call my aunt about twice a week (give or take), but haven't seen her in several weeks. Haven't been able to hug her in several months. My cousin (her daughter) is one of those that would most likely die if she contracted the virus. She has a mitochondrial disease that is slowly killing her as is. I only go to the one grocery store now, and they have finally started getting a good amount of meat in. The dry goods are also finding their way back to the shelf too.

I'm sure your aunt is taking extra precautions especially if her daughter has an underlying condition. It's still a scary time cause the virus isn't gone. My daughter went grocery shopping yesterday but so far we've been having everything delivered. I'm going to continue with delivery for awhile.

@Marilynda1225 A few weeks ago she (my aunt) told me that she felt as if she might have the virus. She went to get tested and it came back negative, but she exhibited a lot of the symptoms. Of course, some of the symptoms were things she deals with on a day to day basis because of her fibro, and it could have also just been the flu. She felt better after a few days, and my cousin did not seem to contract whatever my aunt had. I need to try the grocery delivery service, but mostly because there are one or two stores too far away that I'd like to get some things to stock up on.

I am so glad for you, we still have to wait to meet most of our friends and family, at least all those who are in Italy, it is official, the borders stays closed until July 6th... another month.

It certainly was the highlight of my day/week/month. They live so close and yet we had to keep our distance. My son in law was going to work every day so they were afraid to come here just in case.

I was really missing them especially since they live so close. They were here all the time and then wham quarantine hit. Our face to face visit was awesome even if we couldn't hug each other yet.

I agree that getting a chance to see and spend time with family in person would make me smile from ear to ear, and erase all the isolation and loneliness that had crept in during the lockdown. I'm so happy for you that you got to spend time with your family! I'm sure you created some wonderful memories!

@Marilynda1225 Sometimes, I think that having family so close makes it all the more harder when you can't see them.

It makes all the difference to the mood and your health. I'm so glad you saw them, even if you couldn't hug and kiss. Getting back to a normal routine also helps keep you healthy and happy. I'm feeling that too with being back in the pool and socializing again at a safe distance.

I'm so anxious for things to get back to normal even if it means we still have to take necessary precautions against Covid

I was missing my daughter and grandkids so much. They live so close and yet it seemed so far throughout quarantine. I appreciated our facetime calls but nothing beats face to face in person.
