Hanging out with deers

Looking at some photos, I came across this one. It was made on one of my trips through Greece. It is a small picturesque village with a natural park - Agios Panteleimonas, with a small church, a few covered and fenced summer houses so that one could dine in peace and over 70 deers, who walk freely It is spread over 6 acres. There we took our first big break, had breakfast at the summer house and spent almost two hours with these wonderful animals. And then we moved on.. I'm looking forward to coming back to this place ... oh yeah, I've already planned everything Have you ever had the opportunity to get this close to a deer without being a zoo?

I've seen deer, but never this close to see or touch (they end up running away!).

@much2say These were used to people, and it was unusual for me, they ate out of my hand

@LowRiderX Yes but your touch may give them good and safe feeling so they not hurt you and thus you can able to take nice shot.

@birjudanak Yes, they won't hurt on purpose, otherwise you can't eat anything in front of them, they're so boring and they push their heads until they take whatever you hold from your hand

@birjudanak I was afraid I have to admit, because sometimes they shake their heads because of flies so I was careful not to get hurt by the horns

Sounds like a lovely trip. Greece is so interesting. Oh, please. We have so many brazen deer here and they walk right up to me and can't be shooed away.

@LowRiderX I agree and if it is a place you like then it makes sense turn off 20 kilometers.

@nela13 Since I will pass there again, it will not be difficult for me to turn off 20 kilometers from the highway to stop again. It would be a shame to cover 700 or more kilometers without stopping by

@rebelann We have deer in Serbia, but they are wild, run away from people. Those in the nature park that we visited have been there for years, they are used to people because people feed them

We've been to Marineland in Niagara Falls, and there is a fenced in area where you can wander around and there are lots of deer that will come up to you. Its an amazing experience and something you always remember.

@LowRiderX I remember when my parents took us there, my Dad had a little bag of corn in his back pocket to feed the deer, and he felt something, and there was a deer pulling on the bag, and actually tore his pants. The deer were used to people, so they knew that they would be fed.

@Juliaacv I know, here where I was they react as soon as they hear the bag rustling, it immediately pushes their head and literally takes everything you have in your hands

@simone10 Because they are fenced in and they are used to people, locals from a nearby village feed them, they have shelter from rain and snow. Also a vet. Over time, they have been breeding here for years and now there are a little more than 70
