You Have to be a Mother to Know your own Child/Pet

My friend from Florida sent me a text yesterday with a photo of Orville the osprey, my sweet Florida pet. She said that Orville says hello to me. I do miss my Orville up here in Connecticut, but know that is NOT my Orville. Doesn’t every “mother” know her own child best?

Is this the photo she sent? This one does not look like Orville, Orville is darker.

This is the photo she sent. You're right, Orville is darker. You'd be a good mom, too!

@DianneN Thank you so much. I have been very ill. I was operated on about 3 and a half weeks ago . Not feeling good at all but, this too will pass. today is the firs time in what seems like forever that I have been able to reach out to anyone. Of course, I thought of myLot first.

Orville came to say goodbye to use just before we left. He knows we are gone I'm sure. Yes, if we don't know are own children and pets, who will? Nice to see you and hope you had a wonderful day.

Orville is an osprey or seahawk. I've known him for over 10 years and he is more gray than white.

@jayanth_77 He's a wild bird, Jay. He often sits in a palm tree near our condo in Florida and flys to my window or over the pool when I call him. He flew to my window to show me a fish he caught and shocked the heck out of me, because he was so huge! I've had many interactions with him whenever we spend time in Florida.

Indeed mother knows best. When we raise something from the start. We simply knows the baby or pet if it was your own or not.

He said goodbye the morning we left which made our hearts burst! I miss him, but am happy to be close to visit my poor Doodles the cat and his sister. I find solace in that. I'm not returning to Florida until a vaccine is safe and available. Good thing I saved all my fur coats!

@Janet357 Don't even think about that yet! Your dog is young and healthy. Some ospreys do live a long time. Orville must be over 30 years old from what I've been told.

It depends of what kind of a mother a person is. There are mothers who is more busy with their career than with their own child and there are mothers who gives time to sit and talk with their child which helps them to know their child well
