Hi All,
Well, happily yesterday mom and I went to the racetrack. This is a 1/8th mile track that hosts drag racing. We have some good friends who are racers. We didn't go at all last year because dad wasn't well enough, unfortunate.
Well, it was a little difficult being there without him, but it was a nice day, too.
We saw our friends and spent the day in the sun. While I don't know much about it - It is fun to see the fast machines run down the track.
The food and the concessions was, as always - tasty.
Seeing our friends was lovely too.
As usual very , very careful with the virus concerns and everything.
Here is a video (not mine) on Youtube of the raceway. Given the date in 2017 I might have even been there.

Are your raceways closed still? About 3 weeks ago ours opened, but to racers only. Last weekend ours opened to allow 25% of capacity for spectator. I hope you can go enjoy, too, soon

Glad that it was somewhat normal with all safety measures and precautions with the virus.

Thanks! I figure it was fairly safe - being outdoors. We could have sat in the bleachers, but we chose our own lawn chairs, farther away from people :-)

@FayeHazel It was smart and safe to do so
We should take all possible precautions from our side.

I just read that. Aw. That's too bad.
As I figure... we were probably fairly safe. We could have sat in the stands - but instead brought our own chairs, stay away from people....

Sounds like fun! One of my regrets was not going to the Indy 500 when I had the chance in college. Not a fan of cars going around and around a track but sure the atmosphere is electric!

Oh that would have been something to see. Maybe you can go another time? This in particular is drag racing (1/8th mile) - so zip down the track and then the next guys go. :-) But one time in Brainerd (which is 1/4 Mile Track) I walked over to the road race track (a circle) and actually that was interesting in it's own right too

@dgobucks226 Ah yes so hard for tracks to keep open and make a profit I think

@FayeHazel I would probably like drag racing more. We used to have a facility nearby but I think it finally closed down.

Oh yes. Not too bad if you just go to watch - but our friends, so it seems are always breaking down, needing to fix the car, not to mention transport to different tracks, and all of the fees and insurances that are needed I'm sure
