Odd Things to Remember

I remember watching a comedy special, and the woman said there are things which she wishes she'd have known when she was younger. She said she wish she had moisturized her neck earlier in life. I was in my early twenties, and I thought, well, I don't want her regret to be my regret. And ever since then I made sure my neck was moisturized appropriately. It is weird thing to remember.I What comes to mind that really sticks out to you? What out of the blue odd things come weirdly to mind?

Because your skin will start to sag, and make you look older.

What always pops into my mind during the summer when the sky is a deep blue is that my mom always said that such skies were as blue as Egyptian skies and she had never been to Egypt so that saying always come to mind

Haha. That's pretty funny in a way. I can't really remember anything but I'm sure there are things that I do for strange reasons.

hahah really? I never did that. hmm, nothing really but I have this weird habit of tapping my pillow twice or thrice before going to bed and utter a short prayer. Failure to do so, means I can hardly fall asleep

I remember that my mother had some problems when she entered menopause and she gained some weight. I told to myself that I would have done everything possible not to have problems and do not gain weight... well I partly failed, I gained 2 pounds from my younger years.

@AmbiePam I have been lucky, I really had no health problems caused by menopause, not even hot flashes.

I read a book "The Man In The Gray Flannel Suit" and somewhere in it the writer said "A gentleman get a haircut every 10 days" and I did until I was 75 years old!!

My husband told me years ago that no one would take me seriously if I didn't have an opinion. That stuck with me.

The odd thing that comes to mind right away is that I never heard to moisturize my neck and even if I did I'm not sure that I would. I don't moisturize my face it hands either. I do have varicose veins which I found out about ten years ago. Prior to that, approximately when I was in my thirties to forties the lower section of my legs became stained. It was from swelling in my ankles and I never knew to elevate my legs at that young age. As I got much older and they would say to elevate I would but it was years later that I discovered when they say elevate they mean always above your heart. I also learned that had I moisturized my legs they would be more supple and once I began it helped a lot and the staining is beginning to recede. The discoloration used to be all the way down to my ankles. I doubt I'll lose all the staining though.

My first full time job out of college was working in a senior's home. I remember them telling me things like that all of the time. I cannot think of anything right away.
