OUCH... I Broke My Toe

Have you ever broken your toe? It's painful to say the least. This isn't the first time I've broken my poor little pinky toe but I hope it's the last. Yesterday I was changing the sheets on my bed and as I was walking around the bed I stubbed my toe on the corner of my nightstand. Boy did I see stars. Today my poor little toe is all black, blue and purple and a mess. The good thing about not wearing slipper/shoes is I don't have to worry about putting them on my feet today. The bad thing about being barefoot is exactly what happened....a broken toe.

Ouch, I feel for you. Our toes are so sensitive. I got up one day last week and was walking alongside the bed and stubbed my second smallest toe on that hard plastic caster on the bed frame. I saw stars and its still black and blue. Hopefully your toe mends soon.

That must really hurt. I've dislocated my little toe decades ago and remember how painful that was.

I'd stub it against a bed post or something @Marilynda1225 Usually I simply had to pop it back in place.

How the heck did you dislocate your little toe?

Oh no! I've stubbed my toe before and thought I broke it and it hurt so bad. I can only imagine how painful it is when it's actually broken. I am so sorry and hope you are better soon

@Marilynda1225 That's true, nothing anyone can do. It makes my toe hurt just thinking about it . I really do hope your toe is better soon.

They can't do anything for a broken toe as I've learned from breaking it more than once. You would think I'd wear shoes

A few times like you did. Also broke my big toe once when a horse ran over me. He never did that to me again.

I know they are very painful. My husband was told it could be left unstrapped and would be sore for six weeks or it could be strapped and it would still be sore for six weeks. lol

Yes it takes awhile for it to heal. I opt for not strapping it and it isn't quite as painful now as it was the day I did it but it's still black & blue and looks pretty nasty

@Marilynda1225 And do you find that, however careful you are, you still keep knocking it?

Oh no...that is awful. I don't think I ever broke my toe, but I sprained it or something one time, my big toe, and I could hardly walk.

@Marilynda1225 It really, really hurt to walk for 3 days or so, and gradually got better.

I think the big toe would be even more painful than the poor little pinky toe

Its most likely just sprained and bruised, if it's broken or fractured you probably would had fainted and the part would most likely be put in a cast. Hope it would get well and you would feel better, that really hurts.

I am sorry! Yes, I've broken my toe before and it is not fun. I've also broken fingers. Never any fun!

Oh, no! I'm so sorry! That's just one of the reasons why I always wear slippers or only in the house shoes. There's not much that can be done for a broken toe, so I've heard. Hope it feels better soon.

I'm always without shoes or slippers and you would think I'd learn since this isn't the first time I've done it

Good thing I don't have to put on shoes anytime soon or I'd be in trouble.

Broken toe? You mean the toenail? If toenail, it hurts so much. It will take few weeks, can be months, to grow the nail back

No not the nail, the toe itself.
