I woke up laughing so much early this morning....

I have mentioned here and there that I suffer with nightmares and have done so for a very long time. It's very rare that I sleep and have all good dreams. There is at least one bad / stressful nightmare every time I sleep. It's also very rare that I wake up laughing from something I dreamed. I can count that on one hand how many times that has happened. When I was little, I had a dream I was sitting in a circle with hippies. Someone tied a balloon to some dude's long hair and his hair lifted off his head as the balloon was rising. I woke up laughing. In my teenager years, I dreamed I was with Seth MacFarlane (creator of Family Guy) and he was drawing one of his characters. He said "I would hate to have his shoes." And that also had me waking up laughing. Though, about 1 minute later I realised it actually wasn't that funny but least I laughed from a dream. Then this morning, I was dreaming something bad but it switched to me being in class. My teacher was talking but mid-sentence she let out a huge double burp then continued talking again. In waking life, I don't really laugh at burps unless it's unusual. But for some reason that dream woke me up and I was laughing my head off. I think I was laughing for like 5 minutes then I fell asleep again. I kinda forgot about it til about an hour ago. (nearly 6pm here) Have you ever had a dream that was so funny? Or have done what I have, laughing at something that was funny in the dream but not so funny in waking life?

My interpretation of your dream is that you have a very good mental and emotional condition when you slept.

@Alexandoy oh I wish. No my mind is a mess. So I'm surprised I dreamed something funny. Before that I was going through a very bad dream.

I'd take a funny dream over nightmares for sure! I know I've had them before and remember the feeling, yet I can't remember any of those funny dreams. My husband dealt with Seth MacFarlane at his work before Family Guy came out .

@VivaLaDani13 Hubby used to work for a computer animation company - a small one - in the mid 90s. The owner/boss was a young mister money bags - a controlling guy who had to feel like a someone. I can't remember the details, but Seth would come in because he wrote something that required animation (was it for a Family Guy pilot - I don't remember). I guess they had meetings, so that's where Hubby got to know him for a bit. Seth of course had requirements, and stupid boss ruined the bid by bringing up selfish rights for his company - so in the end I think the deal was out. And of course Seth MacFarlane's career really took off after that, so it was a big mistake for Hubby's boss . . . but eventually Hubby left the company (which also fizzled).

I don't think I've ever had a funny dream that made me laugh. I have had a lot of dreams that just don't make any sense.

@VivaLaDani13 I guess some of those can be funny at times. My brother has very vivid dreams, but a lot of his don't make sense either. When he tells me his dreams, I can't help but laugh because they can be so outrageous

@simone10 lol I'd love to hear them. Do you remember any of them by any chance? My dad often gets a kick out of my dreams too because they can be so random.

That's different to wake laughing. No, I never have. It's great you did and could laugh on waking instead of having a nightmare.

that's a pretty funny dream that made you laugh. I can't say I've woken up laughing but I have had my share of nightmares (thankfully not often). My dreams are usually crazy and mixed up and when I wake up I find I'm shaking my head trying to figure out why I would dream such silly things.

@Marilynda1225 I'm so glad you don't have the nightmares often! As for the silly dreams, I would be pondering over them too. And I do. Some dreams can be so random and confusing.

Hmmm....that was a good question that really made me think. I am the opposite of you, most of my dreams are good ones (the ones I can remember), and it is rare that I have a nightmare. But now that I think about it, I don't recall ever waking up laughing from a hilarious or humorous dream I've had. Not saying it hasn't happened, just that I don't remember any instances. I hope you are able to have more dreams in your future that leave you smiling or laughing when you wake up!

@moffittjc It's funny how we don't always remember. I guess it's kinda like watching a movie sometimes. You can either like it or hate it even if you don't always remember the details. Thank you very kindly.

@moffittjc Well gosh darn it! And random thing for me to say right now but when I read the first three words of your sentence "I woke up..." I started singing a Partridge Family song in my head and now it won't leave. Least I like the song but still, I think it's going to be stuck for quite awhile.

I can remember that I had a dream that caused to me laugh and actually I woke up while laughing. But in the real senses I couldn't recall what the dream was. I had forgotten what the dream was all about. What I could remember was only bits of the dream.
