Wednesday Ramblings

Happy Wednesday Everyone! Last night we had a wicked thunderstorm around midnight. The thunder shook the house and the lightening was fierce. I was praying that the power wouldn't go out. Luckily it didn't so it was a comfortable night sleeping with the a/c. Today it's a bit windy but at least the storm broke the humidity and it's just warm today. I'm working on my second cup of coffee and my daughter went to the DMV because she needs to have her picture taken for her license. I'm hoping she doesn't have to wait on a long line and can get in and out in a relatively quick amount of time. Our state gave an extension for pictures of renewals but now it expires at the end of June. With the crazy days she's been working today is the only day she has free to go there and get it done. We're going to have an easy dinner tonight....sausage, peppers and onions on rice. I'll sauté the peppers and onions and cook the sausage in the air fryer. Other than that, nothing much is going on. Life is slowly get back to normal but I'm still not going anywhere. I'm still leery of the virus. How's your Wednesday shaping up?

Good morning, by the sounds of things, you're lucky to have survived the night last night. I hate stormy nights like that. Its cooler here yesterday and today too. Its funny that you mentioned that you've got supper all planned out, today I do as well.

@Marilynda1225 Loud storms like that are scary, especially when they are close as it sounds yours was last night. For supper I am making chicken parmasean which I'll serve on penne with marinara sauce. We have been on a kick the past month or so with this dish, this will be about the third time we've had it. I don't like pasta all that much, but we are eating it now and loving it, so we'll go with that for the time being.

I was lying in bed listening to the thunder and it was a bit unsettling feeling the house shake. The lightening was frequent and lit up my room every time it flashed. It's unusual that I know so early in the day what I'm having for dinner. What are you having?

Glad to hear you're not going anywhere. I'm very leery of the virus, too. NY and CT have the lowest number of cases, but the virus is alive and well. What scares me are the number of carriers out and about. It's sunny here, but I believe we may get your thunderstorm tonight. I hope it brings lots of rain with it. Our lawns are starting to look sick!

Hope you get rain if you get the thunderstorm. We got rain but not nearly enough. Our grass looks sad. I'm also leery of the virus and keeping myself as isolated as possible. My daughter has been going back to work 2 days a week but thankfully there are only 7 people in her office and they are taking precautions. At least she can drive back and forth and not be on public transportation. We're also limiting our trips to the store, etc.

@DianneN yes she strips down in the garage when she gets home so we're taking all precautions. It makes me shudder when I watch the news and see all the covidiots

@Marilynda1225 I hope we get any amount of rain. So glad your daughter is only working in her office 2 days a week. Be sure she takes off her clothes and shower as soon as she gets home. I know you are being smart and wise and not a covidiot. I don't know why people don't understand how this virus works!

I got lucky when I had to renew my license a few months ago. I was able to renew it online. They have my picture saved on file from the last time I renewed my license, so they just used that photo. Of course, they said if I wanted a new photo I would have to make an appointment and go in person. Since I actually love my current driver's license photo, I told them to go ahead and use the one on file and mail me my new license!

My daughter had to get a new picture taken (no choice) so she's been driving around with a temporary license. She didn't do too bad at the DMV today, it went smoothly and she was done within an hour. You're lucky you didn't need a new photo. The DMV is usually a horror even in normal times.

@Marilynda1225 I haven't had to go to the actual DMV place in like 10 years or so. But I remember how bad it was before. Thankfully, my license is good for 8 years so I don't have to worry about that for a very long time!

I always go to a DMV in the next county over because they hardly ever have anyone waiting. Your dinner sounds delicious. I am making Hamburger Steak in mushroom gravy. I went the store this morning, and now I just need to try to write a few paragraphs (but the muse isn't quite there) and then I'll get to cleaning.

Our DMV just opened after being closed due to covid. We don't have another one close by so we're stuck with the one here. Actually my daughter said it went rather smoothly. They had a line outside and kept the whole mask & social distancing thing moving along. Only a certain amount of people were allowed in at a time but she was in and out in less than an hour.

That's great! It sounds like they knew people were already frustrated coming to the DMV, so they tried to make it as expedient as possible during this time. @Marilynda1225

You're more than welcome to come for dinner....just don't forget we have to social distance so maybe we can eat outside since the weather is beautiful. My daughter did pretty good getting her license picture and renewal done. They had a pretty good system with the whole mask & social distancing. Hope.things to smoothly when it's time for you to do your passport. Bet you're getting anxious to travel again.

I'm looking more and more for easy dinners. My days of cooking for hours are over I think the virus will be around for quite awhile even though some people are acting as if it doesn't exist at all.

Last night it poured heavy for hours but no thunder thankfully. I need to mow the lawn tomorrow so I’m crossing my fingers it won’t rain. We did need the rain we got though the grass was dying. I’m very nervous about this virus still too!
