Instacart - My First Time Grocery Delivery

I found it easy and convenient. However, when I got my groceries, I found out I need to make an adjustment on the items. I need to click on pounds so I don't get only a couple of an item instead of a bunch. I hoped for two bunches of bananas. I put 4 expecting four pounds. I got four bananas. Lesson learned. I did the same for the Roma tomatoes.
My friend from Writer's Guild messaged me. She should be here soon with more bananas and Roma tomatoes.
In the meantime, notifications are finished and I'm going to start work on Vendetta. I didn't get a chance to work on it yesterday.
Have you ordered from Instacart? Do you find it convenient? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me.

I've just begun ordering things from REWE. Have you got this chain in your town, too? I avoid going out as much as possible. Because of my age and heart problems I belong to the endangered group of people in the Covid-19 pandemic.
I ordered heavy things which I don't want to carry. I only buy fresh fruit and vegetable myself. I go to small supermarkets and grocery shops for these things.
I'm content with the delivery and am going to order from REWE again.

I haven't used any delivery services. I have a grocery store just a short distance away. I walk to it. I get my exercise along with my groceries! haha

@just4him Did you self-quarantine yourself?

@moffittjc Yes until my grandson tells me the results of his test. I really hope he's negative.

I normally do too. I don't have the option right now.

I eat strawberries, blueberries, grapes, apples, cantaloupe, and pineapple. It's been a couple of weeks since I had cantaloupe and a while since I had pineapple. I have that buried in my freezer and will get to it one of these days. I've also eaten mango on occasion along with peaches, oranges, tangerines. The only fruit I won't eat is cherries. Nothing could induce me to do so.
I usually only have one banana a day unless they're getting overripe.

I do not know what instacart is. I ordered groceries online once and had to substitute other things. I prefer even though it is hard to go to the grocery store myself and look for what I one and have to substitute then get something else instead that I like.

@just4him we get cold food delivered about once every three weeks from the Piggly Wiggly grocery store. They even do free delivery. I order other things online.

You can order things from different stores using that app. And I believe there is a membership or subscription fee. My mom uses it since the pandemic started.

Instacart does not work here. But we do have Amazon and many local delivery apps. I have a good experience with them. I am sticking to online shopping and delivery in this pandemic.

@just4him We have quite a few good ones. And the cut throat competitiveness is quite beneficial to the consumers.

Sorry to hear about that issue with the order, but glad you know for the future if you choose to use it again. I've never ordered from instacart, but i signed up to be a shopper/delivery person. I need to get the app on my new phone vand see if there are any batches for me to actually do it!

@MommyOfEli2013 If they aren't happy doing it they shouldn't have signed up for it.

@just4him That is great that she did....some I am sure aren't so happy doing the job...but I think I'd have fun with it. I made a few food deliveries with Door Dash.

That seems to be the trend nowadays and many are taking it because they are afraid to go out and buy their grocery anymore. It is pretty convenient though that only risk is that you do not get to choose your items and you might get items not to your liking like dented canned goods etc.

Dented canned goods are something I don't worry about. I don't remember the last time I bought canned goods. I buy everything fresh. Yes, it is the trend. Though I do prefer shopping for myself. I know what I'm getting.

No, like most things they wouldn't deliver out here to the woods. I am pretty sure you have to be within a certain distance to the store.

I do too, but with the situation what it is right now, waiting for my grandson's test results, I'm not leaving the house.

Our store uses instead shoppers but even more we used shipt shoppers. They have a contract here with Meier's and target.
I work at the store so purchased my own items. My daughter though with the new baby they used shipt. Make sure you have your phone nearby during the shopping window as they may call to ask with questions.
Do they let you know when they begin?

Yes, they kept me informed through the whole process. I knew who was shopping, and when she left the store and as soon as she arrived. It was a good experience.
