Vampire Bunny

A came across an interesting story about gargoyles. In Newcastle, England above the door of St. Nicholas Cathedral there is a rather odd gargoyle statue. No one knows how or why this vampire rabbit was created but there he is if you chance to go to the cathedral. He is rather frightening to look at and in modern times has had someone add red staining to his teeth as if it was blood and on his claws. I think it would give me quite a start to look up and see him there.

@rakski you reminded me of a children's story about Bunnicula a vampire bunny that sucked the juice out of carrots.

And so very strange to find something like that on a cathedral @innertalks I mean gargoyles of all kinds do look terrible and are on cathedrals but specifically a vampire bunny is the first I have heard about this

@RasmaSandra Maybe to scare off evil spirits of some sort. I see it's not that old, just over one hundred years old.

There's a reason for that why it is called a vampire rabbit.

I'm not keen on gargoyles at all. They are all so ugly, not to mention sinister.

He's definitely a creepy rabbit. I bet if someone put some eerie lights on it at night it would really scare the crap out of you. lol
