Black Knight Butterfly Bush (aka Buddleja davidii) is blooming in Dustin's garden. I have a white butterfly bush, which is also doing well. That is where Bugs hides from every day.
The purple one is often called a black butterfly bush. The blooms are a dark purple. This means the butterflies will arrive soon. Something else to be happy about.
Someone asked to see the entire bush. Here you go. It is just getting started. It is still in the baby stage. I planted it in December of 2018. And I will share close up photos of the blooms soon.
*Update: changed the photo to share the bloom. Wind is making it hard to photograph. Will post more photos later.

I will have to refresh to see if the photo shows up, but as of now it isn't there.
We have a butterfly bush outside of a window in the addition. It isn't visible anymore because there is a desk in front of that window, but it was a beautiful sight to behold once upon a time.

@CarolDM I see the photo now. Yes, you are right. If you aren't looking at the bottom, it looks just like floating blooms.

@moffittjc Yes, hence the name Black Butterfly Bush. It is a beauty. Will be glad when it matures. This is only the 2nd year in the garden.

This is such a beautiful, unique bush that I've never heard of before. The purple is very pretty, I'll be the white one is, too. Dustin is very happy!

It is really pretty. My butterfly bush has started blooming a bit again, but it has not grown much. Are they a perenial like most bushes seem to be?
