I was glad to see the nearby cornfield yesterday. The corn stalks have grown and I could see some flowers. In a month there will be some corn to be harvested. But wait, I see more.... there are pests eating the leaves of the corn plants. That is bad, the corn may not have kernels huh.

Yes, just a stone's throw away from our house. Our place is hard to describe. This is a middle class village but with estates (owned by landed familes) inside.

@Alexandoy My brother told me that there were types of corn that genetically repelled some insects.

@marguicha yes, I have also read that. But the farmer here may not know it. He is just a backyard farmer although he plants crops for selling.

There are many plants here because of the vacant spaces. Neighbors are fond of planting so we can have free vegetables.

@Alexandoy I think it is wonderful that the vacant spaces are used to grow food.

@JudyEv yes, that is the culture here. When there is land, plant something so there will be a harvest.

@Butterfingers the owner is the friendly neighbor. It's really a pity that the pests were not noticed earlier.

@youless snow and corn do not mix, that's what I know. Or maybe if they planted the corn during summer then it can be.

What I know of corn is that they grow in tropical countries that I don't think they will grow in cold places.

@LadyDuck the corn is a crop so many that only spraying can cleanse it of the worms.

It's best to get rid of the pests while corn plants are still young. Once the corn appears it's difficult to get rid of the pests.

The farmer said that he will spray the corn with insecticide. It was raining the past days so maybe he will do it when it does not rain.

The crop will be sprayed with insecticide when the weather is good. It cannot be sprayed when there is rain.
