Actually it is a good idea since the stainless steel drinking straws shall be much more environmental than the normal plastic drinking straws. However, in my opinion it is not easy to wash them well. My case is I seldom use the plastic drinking straws. I don't need them. For example, if I drink a can of Cola. I will pour it to a glass and then drink it.

I haven't tried these. I'd be worried that they would have a metallic taste.

I have not seen a stainless drinking straw. All I know is the plastic straw and also the traditional paper straw.

Perhaps they are much more popular in Europe since the stainless steel drinking straws can be used for many times.

@youless the steel straw is durable than plastic which is not reusable for purposes of hygiene.

The stainless steel straw is new to me. Sounds like it is more eco-friendly than the disposable ones.

You are right. But I am not interested in it although I think I am a person who care about the environment. I like to use the glass directly or with a spoon.

I do not use straws at all but too many people do and that needs to stop, we need to stop polluting our oceans.

I agree with you. Especially the fastfood restaurants use a lot of straws everyday.

There is a movement going on in several US states that are banning plastic straws @youless at least it's a step in the right direction.

Very dangerous, I would never use one. We use real "straws" safe, clean, not polluting.

@LadyDuck Very interesting since I haven't seen it yet. Here usually the straws will be burned or put them back to the field as the fertilizer. Very long time ago the straws were like the string that banded the vegetables and sold in the wet market.

@youless NO, they are made of real straw from hay, the name of those things come from the fact that in the past they were all and only made with cut hay.

Err, I'm not sure about it... It's more difficult and expensive to produce and the process which mold the metal is also using toxic materials that's not really good for environment. I think it's better to make straw from natural fiber.
