Better than Fireworks

We got home late last night. It was completely dark. People were setting off a few fireworks, already. I could hear them, but not see them. I looked around before I came in. My yard and the one next to me were filled with fireflies. Beautiful. I had been thinking we did not have many, but I was wrong. They were everywhere. Earlier this summer I had walked down my hall and there was a strange glowing light on the wall. It was a firefly or lightning bug. I am glad to see them back. We have lots of trees and bushes for them. There is usually a source of water as well. I do not spray poisons and chemicals in my yard. Those fireflies are better than fireworks any day.

That would be so nice to see them. I don't think we have them here. I've never seen them or heard about them.

You have many cool animals and such. I guess I do not think of people not having fireflies.

It has been a long time since I participated in fireworks. I try to see the fireflies every year.

The only time I got to see fireflies was when I visited Ohio when I was a kid.

I do not know what their general range is. I have seen them all my life.

That is too bad. I would think they would love where you are.
