Do you make your own salad dressing?

I haven't made any salad dressings lately since I have so many bottles of the commercial stuff, but homemade dressings overall are healthier and sometimes cheaper too. I was looking online yesterday, and they had something like 47 different dressings you could make at home. I bookmarked it. I got a little discouraged though because like the first 10 were all vinagrettes, and other than raspberry vinagrette, I am not a big fan. What dressings do you like to make at home? Please share the recipe if you are so inclined.

I always make my dressing at home, olive oil and vinegar with some herbs, sometimes lemon and olive oil. If I want a creamy one I mix Greek yogurt, a little honey, olive oil, a bit of mustard, some herbs. There are so many we can do, it does not take long.

So you can mix the Greek yogurt in the vinegarette to make a different texture and taste?

@snowy22315 NO, I do not mix the yogurt to the vinegratte, I never mix yogurt and vinegar, if I use yogurt I skip the vinegar at most some droops of lemon.

The simplest that we use has olive oil, fresh lemon juice, salt and pepper - that's it. I don't even measure any of it . . . . just whip it all up in a small bowl (I only make enough for that meal). Another one is a Chinese salad dressing - sweet - but we mainly only use it for when we have a strawberry and spinach salad (which isn't often).

I'm afraid we buy ours in a bottle but I'm sure there will be a lot of people who make their own.

Nah Snowy, just buy it in bottle, its easier and I aint really a salad eater anyway. We call it Rabbit food. I believe homemade would be healthier and cheaper.

I don't use salad dressings at home. When we go out, I like blue cheese dressings.

Mike likes Thousand Island so I started making it myself. Just mayo, ketchup and sweet relish. Doesn't get much easier than that. We have a couple store bought bottles we got on sale/coupon. I don't like vinagrette's at all.

Yes, I make my own salad dressing. Just olive oil, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and herbs like parsley, chives or basil. Mixed them together and so I have my salad dressing.

@m_audrey6788 I am sure they must sell it there. It goes good with strawberries, and other kinds of fruits..or in a vinegar and oil.

I don’t frequently because I am lazy BUT a couple weeks ago I made a southwestern creamy one. It was Greek yogurt, garlic cloves, cilantro, and a little like juice blended or food processed together. Was good!
