The Mother Bluebird on the House

Few days ago I shared a photo of the male bluebird. Someone asked to see the female. So here you go. Snapped this one as she is staying close to her babies-to-be. She is not as blue as the male, but still very pretty in my eyes. Most male birds have the brighter color. This Momma is staying close to the backyard bird house. Protecting her eggs. A few more days before the eggs hatch. Hoping for success.

That is neat. I am still trying to cut the branches down around my bird feeder in the front. I have seed.

The bluebirds like their house clean. Funny, they only use pine straw for the nest.

My parents put a house up in their backyard and are thrilled to have gotten blue jays there.

@CarolDM blue birds I meant. Oops. We have blue jays all over the place. They are common around here. Blue birds are not.

Blue jays? They don't nest in a house here. Good for them.

That is an awesome photo. How do you know if it is the mother or the father blue bird?

Thanks, @TheHorse asked the other day the difference in the male and female. The color and size are the main differences.

This would be so exciting. She is indeed pretty even if not quite as blue as the male.
