It looks like I did it correctly

My hubby has worked for the state for quite a few years now. He is a social worker. Just over a year from now he will retire. Then the Pandemic hit. Even folks who help the less fortunate, those who work hard in the United States welfare office, are being told first to work from home mostly and then: days of not being paid at all. Today we went on line together and navigated the unemployment benefits for state workers paper work. Pretty much like doing taxes. It took us about twenty sweaty minutes. It will be worth it if we get pay coming in, though.

Good luck! I hope the benefits come rolling in. I can only imagine how sweaty you got weaving your way around that, but glad you finished in 20 minutes.

I'm not good at numbers. So precise and if you get it wrong, it bings right back.

I hope you can get it started soon. 20 minutes is not too bad, but I can imagine it was 20 long ones. Good luck!

Lordy. @CarolDM I could not just type in social worker. I had to figure from a ton of jobs which one fit him and which code went with that title. On and on.

Around here, you will need to line up all day just to get a form to file for any benefit.

Was your husband furloughed? I'm sorry this happened to you. I am a government worker also. I fear that eventually this pandemic could put my job in jeopardy as well, especially next year when we face massive budget cuts.

Uh oh @moffittjc. Yes my hubby works for the state and has been partially furloughed. Budget cuts sounds pretty terrible for you and your co workers.

I can just imagine what a marathon that twenty minutes must have seemed like. Good luck with getting unemployment benefits.

Jay was hoping to retire this year, also. Now it's iffy, whether they can hire a new replacement for his route! The post master asked, 'You will be filling in as a sub, right?' Jay's response was, 'I really wasn't planning to fill in for anyone.' He's sick and tired of getting jerked around, as if it doesn't matter!

@kobesbuddy That getting jerked around gets old fast. Poor Jay. My hubby could have retired last year but we need to clear some bills up so he continues on.

@kobesbuddy That's terrible for Jay. My hubby will be 67 when he retires.

@sallypup I'm retired but Jay wasn't 62 yet, he had to wait. Now, he's 63 and wants them to stop expecting him to cover all bases. They still haven't hired a new sub, his first one got fired right after Christmas! Seven months later no one is available, so Jay doesn't have to work every weekend The other full timers get every weekend off!
