Happy 4th of July! Are you doing anything special?

I just went and bought some beer (actually beer with Clamato Juice in it). Most or all beaches and fireworks displays are shut down here in the San Francisco Bay Area, so it could be a quiet 4th. That means fewer fur friends scurrying into our arms or under the bed, a good thing.
I think I'll celebrate by going to the pool a bit earlier than usual. I'm not sure if any of my friends will be Having get-togethers. We'll see about my music friend's usual Saturday musical block party.
I did some research on the way to the store: The roads were quiet, but I DID see a lot of couples out cycling. So people ARE finding ways to make the day "special," in spite of the virus looming in the background.
How is your 4th of July shaping up? If you're not American, I suppose it's just another Saturday.

@TheHorse Good man, always been my struggle going from work mode to party mode. There is a adjustment period but some are so good at it. I am the friend that says stop being in work mode we have trouble to create.

@crossbones27 When I'm playing music, I'm in "professional" mode. Sort of. If an audience member likes me and buys me a shot, I'll drink it. I think everyone likes to feel they're a part of a "happening." I can get a tad rowdy verbally, but I try to keep it all positive. High fives at the end, and all that. Practically speaking, I think it helps the band.

Happy 4th! We took a nice walk and will be barbequing some veggie burgers and vegetable skewers later--but that is about it--a lazy day for me I think--

Ironically, by everybody shutting down their big 4th of July celebrations and fireworks and festivals, it ended up being a noisier holiday than usual, as it felt like every single American went out and spent their entire stimulus checks to buy fireworks to set off in their yards and streets. It sounded like a war zone out there last night!

@TheHorse I will admit, there were some pretty amazing "home grown" fireworks going on out in the neighborhoods.

@moffittjc Yep. I was impressed. But I was less impressed when my friend told me there were about 30 small fires in his town (Antioch CA) that night. The grass is very dry here.

That must be unusual to see quiet streets in SF. I don't drive around that much so I haven't a clue what anyone is doing but I do know that my friends and I are all staying home I plan to be completely lazy today, not doin a thing .... well, my fingers are gettin plenty of exercise but that's about it.

We went to my great-aunt's Saturday afternoon. Not much of the family shows up on the fourth. I sat by her poll and ate some homemade strawberry ice cream. Saturday night I did hear fireworks. Lily (my cat) wasn't afraid. I think she watch some of it.
