Banned to the hallway

Hubby is readying the front room for take off tomorrow morning! Contractor friend brought him a heat gun so that he can peel old floor tiles off the under floor. Contractor friend brought nice furniture dollys. Between him and my husband, my two granny pieces are settled in the hallway. The swivel mirror has been taken off the back of the one piece. It now lies in the window seat behind my bed, blanket over and blanket under. The highboy Victorian radio cabinet is in the guest room. All my stacks of Yule Tales and other writerly stuff is living currently on the dining room table and beside the dining room table. Tomorrow morning flooring will go in and hopefully by sunset things will start to settle back to where they were- right now Sally's large doggie doughnut bed is pushed under the dining room table. She is there now, snoozing. Her weary joints crave that plush doughnut. I crave my recliner but I sit sideways on a dining room chair cause the recliner is shoved in against the tall curio cabinet, at the far side-end of the dining room table.

Sounds like upheaval. I get all paranoid and anxious about upheaval. I detest the mess and the sort of gap in my ordered life upheaval causes. I cant cope with it. I am a.tidy neat and very organised individual. Yvonne is the same. Good luck with it all.

@JimBo452020 I am not neat and tidy. And yet there was a certain order and my writing stuff had a home. After tomorrow I hope to return it to its home. My Yule Tales grew into quite their own person: I mail out about thirty of them- short stories- to folks in the U S and even Canada. Not just family but friends who want a silly little holiday tale. Farm tales, mountain tales, cat tales, drunk Santa tales. Each year different. Last year Santa showed up in a feed store!

@JimBo452020 They're too long to post here. I wonder what the postage to Scotland would cost me? I've spent money on far worse things.

Thanks @DianneN. My back is already griping the lack of a recliner.

@sallypup Poor you. I can imagine how awful that is. Ice, then heat would help.

That doesn't sound like much fun. But soon you'll have that brand new floor and all your furnishings will be back in place.

Things can become very cramped when you have to empty one room for work to be done. You'll be excited to have new flooring.

Uh oh, things will be a mess for a little while. But that will be all worth it with a new floor soon.
