The man who bought our old house finally agreed to let us go get some starts from some of our favorite plants... We are slowly getting some of the starts into the ground. Hopefully, they will all do as well here as they did at the other house. Would you be interested in seeing what we're planting?

Green Stripe Bamboo. Photo is mine.
The Pampas Grass at the top of this discussion is one of the starts we got from the old house. We also got a start from the Green Stripe Bamboo. Unfortunately, I sprained my wrist digging the flower bed here so we still can't plant the bamboo in the ground. It is going to take a large bed all by itself.

@DaddyEvil Pampas grass is an 'escaped plant' here and a pest in our grazing lands now. That's a nice healthy looking plant in the pot. I just scrolled through the comments. You have some lovely plants.

@JudyEv Thank you. And thank you for scrolling through the other comments. I wasn't sure what to do when I ran out of the new plants. (More people responded than I thought would to this discussion and I didn't want to keep showing the same ones over and over again.) Did you see the discussion I wrote several years ago about my outside plants? The link is here in someone's box but I'm not sure where.

@shaggin He said his loan specified that he live in the house so one side or the other had to be open for him to live in. We were the ones he picked to evict. *sigh*

Yeah, he turned out to be a nice guy. He even helped me dig up some of my bamboo. We've been in this new house for a year. Yesterday I told Pretty that I wanted to go home. She said we should make the new owner move into this house so we could have ours back again.

@LadyDuck One of the types of tomatoes we planted is cherry tomatoes and I've eaten two of them so far. There are several more getting ripe now. The other tomato plant is called a Big Boy. It also has green tomatoes but they aren't very big yet. They can weight up to a pound each.

Cherry tomato. Photo is mine.
Yes, it can. The root balls of the two Pampas Grasses I had at the other house were over three feet across each. So this is only a small start from one of them. Pretty and I also planted two types of tomatoes in the flower bed in front of our house and they are getting huge. Here is a photo of one of them.

@kareng Thank you very much. It will take a while for us to have the yard at this house planted like we did at the house we had to move out of this past November. If you're interested in seeing what we had at that house I wrote a discussion about my outside plants a few years ago here on myLot. Here is the link for that discussion. (I'll warn you, though... that discussion is LONG! )
My daughter and I spent several days cleaning up our yard getting it ready for the coming Summer. We had to cut back the two clumps of Pampas Grass that grows...

@DaddyEvil I somehow remember you had the pampas grass at your last house. That does look like lemon grass. We have some lemon grass growing too . . . but I'm going to plant some new ones because the one that's growing had gone through a lot of hell (because of me) . . . so I'm going to grow a new one that will be "safer" to eat . I'll do a better job this time (which is stupid because lemon grass is not hard to grow ). I'm sure you'll have a lot of nice plants growing again in no time!

Lemon Grass. Photo is mine.
Oh, thank you! I really dislike showing the same photos over and over. I only have a limited amount of plants to show off right now since we are just starting off at this house. Although, since several people thought my Pampas Grass was Lemon Grass, Pretty decided to find some Lemon Grass. She thought we'd like using it in our cooking. We found some and will be planting it in the yard soon. I can show that to you. *grinning at you*

The plants that grow are the best kind to plant. Do you like mint in your tea? Here is some Orange Mint from my garden.
