Will I have a sunflower soon?

I'm taking bets on when my tallest sunflower will finally bloom. It's above my railing now. A few others are growing nicely. Maybe I'll have a few blooms at once! Send your guesses as to when I'll see yellow, along with $100, to Horse@GoFundYourself.com. @FourWalls set up the account for me. Just kidding! But I am calling all self-proclaimed flower experts to guess with me: How long until I see yellow?

I can't call myself an expert, but I'll guess three days. Three days and they'll all bloom simultaneously! Forget the hundred bucks, you crazy horse!

Heh heh. That would be lovely if they all bloomed together. I AM hoping for some overlap. The one next to this one is only about a foot shorter and is also almost ready to bloom.

@Adie04 I'll do another post in a couple of days. I think I will have a full (but small) sunflower by then.

I just noticed a large sunflower behind my backyard where it meets the meadow. Nobody in our neighborhood has sunflowers, so not sure where it came from. Unless maybe some bird pooped out a seed as they were flying by.

Maybe by the weekend. I love sunflower seeds. You'll have to beat the birds to them!

My sunflowers are always pretty small because they're in planters. I only harvest seeds from the taller sunflowers we grow at the preschool. We'll see if the birds take a liking to my balcony sunflower seeds this year.

It's looking good! I just transplanted some corn an tiny tomato plants into bigger pots. Hope they thrive as well. Do you have a garden growing?

@TheHorse Yes, I plant tomatoes each year. I also grow eggplant, squash, cucumbers and I've even had pumpkins. Nothing like tomato sandwiches. Good luck with your corn. That would be a great addition to any garden!

Ohhh, you can see it budding at least! We planted our seeds rather late . . . it's about 6 inches high and only at the 4-6 leaves stage. We have no expectations . . . just trying to keep them alive . Anyway, hope you see yellow very soon!
