Discouraged & What I'm Thankful for Today.

No, I'm not depressed. Only discouraged. Which is why this is my first post so late in the day. I have a week and a half to get to 185 and instead of working with me, my weight is working against me. I'm hovering around 190 again when I was down to 187.2 I'm working hard to lose this weight, but I keep putting on water weight. I blame this heat. Can I do that? Does all this humidity cause water weight?
Anyway, I'm discouraged. I want to see the scale go down not up.
I'm also discouraged because I was really looking forward to getting the first eye done on Friday. I can't possibly understand why it's a 2-4 hour consultation and then they will schedule the surgery. I'm afraid to tell my son it's a talk session only and he needs to be there for it since he is my driver. Especially when he told me he doesn't have off on Friday. His boss is on vacation and he didn't know until I went there to do laundry on Tuesday. With him working nights, he should be sleeping not sitting in a talk session.
Anyway, the paperwork is filled out and I watched the video, which was my first clue the surgery wouldn't happen on Friday.
Being discouraged doesn't mean I'm not thankful. I am. I don't allow anything to put me down for too long. So, let me tell you what I'm thankful for today.
I'm thankful I could go to the pool this morning. I almost couldn't. I thought I had a dead battery when I got in the car, but it started and I had a good workout.
I'm thankful I spent my day with the best people in the world, you. You've even made me chuckle and smile and gave me something to be happy about. Thank you.
I'm thankful I got most of my fitness goals accomplished. Ten o'clock passed me by in a flash, so I missed those hourly steps. However, I just passed 10 K so I'm doing well.
Okay, that's a snapshot of my day. I could give you the fitness report. It's not bad, but you already know I gained a few ounces instead of losing them. I'm at 189.8 this morning. I'm hoping to see it go down tomorrow. We'll see.
How is your day going? What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. I'm getting off the computer and get more exercise and watch some TV while I do. You all have a good day/night/morning. I'll see you tomorrow. The image belongs to me.

Sorry about the weight gain and the appointment not being as you hoped. Hopefully they'll schedule it soon.

It's alright to be discouraged. Human I think. Though if I may say - you are not that far off of your weight goal. Why a week and a half? Was it just a motivational goal?
Yeah I think you can count water weight. :-)

I know how you feel. I've been pushing through my fibromyalgia pain walking/jogging on the treadmill for an hour every day, a few minutes of stretching first thing in the morning and I've done a few laps in our pool a couple of days (the water has just gotten warm enough for me to stay in for more than 5 seconds). And what weight have I lost? 4 pounds. I have been doing this since at least the beginning of the year. It is so discouraging. You're doing better than me though because you're watching what you eat. I do... but I also don't.

@just4him Yes, and a lot of people say it's not always the numbers on the scale as my tough "walk" is probably building a lot of muscle. I think I look a little skinnier in the stomach area. Measuring tape is better than the scale some people say.

@just4him Another reason could be that you overdid with the exercise and your body slowed its metabolism to store as much food it can store because it feels deprived. This is surely the reason why you feel that you need more food and you are hungry.

When you say water weight my understanding is the artificial nature of it that tomorrow the actual weight will return.

@just4him if it's not artificial then it is not because of drinking water.

I am sorry to hear about the things that are discouraging you. The scale is not always our friend....but I hope it will be more kind. And hope they will schedule your surgery not too far away!

I can understand as its little worry for gaining weight instead of losing but you are trying your best so no need to discouraged for it as you already taking care and follow thing so sometimes if it show little more its OK as you know what you doing.
My day was good and once again good enough rain at my area so thankful to it.

My friend evet said to me that you must reduce calory in every day. For example you only eat calory in 8 hours and you are fasting 16 hours. During 16 hours you cant eat calory but you allow to drink water or tea without sugar

For the most part, I keep my calories low and I eat a healthy diet. There are days when my calories are higher. I exercise more and drink more water to compensate for those days.
