The optometrist denied me of new eyeglasses

The frame was $120 and the lens would be $100 as per the estimated cost for a new pair of eyeglasses. When the optometrist checked my eyes, she was surprised that the grade did not change. The problem is not the eyes but the "nose pad" that was broken. That lost the alignment of the eyeglasses so I couldn't see very well. Fortunately the 2 nose pads were replaced with new ones with no charge because I am a cute customer, huh, I mean valued customer.

That saves you a fortune. Good thing that your Optometrist did not take the advantage to earn from you and honestly tell the real defects. And now, as the photo suggests you have a clear vision I suppose...

getting a replacement for new eyeglasses can be very diffuse since it is pricey already. My son also had his eyes checked up since he complains that his eyeglasses were not as clear as it was before and it indeed changed when he was checked up. We were offer to just changed the lens or buy a new frame. We just chose to replaced the lens since the frames were really priced way too high right which can be a bit impractical at this point.

@Alexandoy True we were also being charged that high too that is why we opted to just replaced the lens and it still costs us just to replaced them but of course lesser that replacing the whole.

@rsa101 usually the cost of the lens is equal to the cost of the frame.

I was surprised when the frame was priced at 6,000 pesos. And it is not the expensive brand yet.

I think it's' great that they weren't driven by profit motive and actually diagnosed the problem correctly and offered the right advice even if it won't fetch them much. Wish every place was like this.

So you didn't get a new pair of glasses? Did you even want a new pair? My glasses, which I got many years ago, cost me over $500. That's because I have Australian frameless glasses and the lenses that get darker when I wear them in the sun. I was also suckered into getting protection for my lenses, which cost over $100. Wish I had not gotten that. I want new glasses and those with a frame but I can't bring myself to spend the money, even if my mom wanted to pay for them. For my birthday a few years ago she wrote me a check for $700 I think it was so I could get new glasses. I shredded the check.

Gee, that is a very expensive eyeglasses you had. Photochromic lens is expensive because it darkens when you are under the sun.
