Observations from my day

I walked pretty early, and I saw swifts, I think, zooming and catching mosquitoes. I could hear lonely doves calling as well. There were men working on a roof, trying to work as much as possible before the heat set in. I did not walk past anyone mowing, so I did not smell cut grass, but the different trees have different smells. Of course the cedars smell of their evergreen branches, and pines are different from that. We have neighbors that have sycamore trees. It smells so earthy and sweet. I think they are my favorite. Inside today, I have done some food prep. We did not go to church because hubby is supposed to isolate before his procedure tomorrow. Since I have stayed home today I got a lot done. I had purchased a huge tray of chicken breast tenders the other day. About a fourth of it went in my fried rice. I sauteed the rest of them today, packed meal sized portions and labelled them.I put some in the deep freeze and some in the refrigerator. I will top a pizza one day with some. We will eat a salad topped with cooked chicken breast, as well as the mushrooms I sauteed today. Aldi's had strawberries for 99 cents per quart. That is an astounding price. We had those with home made yogurt today. I cleaned and cut the rest of them after supper, so they are ready any time I need them for a meal. I have over ripe bananas to peel and they will go into smoothies to help hubby get more calories. Nothing really goes to waste here. I am caught up at this time with notifications. It is likely I will not be here much tomorrow. Have a great day or evening. I will see you when we are all done in Wichita.
