My first day at Prac....

Perth, Australia
July 13, 2020 5:14am CST
First of all, thank you to everyone who commented on my last Discussion. I only got home about an hour ago so haven't had time to check them yet but I will tonight. But not sure if I will be able to reply back to you all yet as I need to try get some sleep. Only had 40 minutes sleep last night. As well as needing to plan an activity for the children. But will get back to you all soon as possible. My first day was good. I decided to go into the Kindy Room first. I wanted to go there first so I can bond with them then do the activity with them on Wednesday. I did whatever I could to help my Supervisor, helped tidy the room up....over and over and over , did whatever I could to bond with the children and I did well. I talked with them, laughed with them, played with them, drew with them, helped some go to sleep etc. It was good but my lower back is killing me. And I'm just exhausted so I would love to talk more but I just want to make some dinner then try sleep for awhile. Thank you all again, I really appreciate your answers and support during this time as it means a lot to me. Just wanted to touch base with you all about my first day. Hope you're all well and I will be back on as soon as I have time and energy,

It seems that I am lost in your job with the kids. I have not seen your post about it.

@Alexandoy I am just a student there. During my course I have to do some Practical Placement at a childcare centre to gain experience and observe what happens there. I have posted quite a bit about it over some time. Sorry you missed them.

@msdivkar Thank you very much. Thankfully, I have had some rest. Unfortunately it is because I am sick with a cold at the moment but at least I have had a lot of sleep.

Now stop thinking about your myLot notifications. You're too conscientious. Think about yourself. It's more important that you get enough sleep. MyLot will still be here when you wake up. :-)

@MALUSE I'm not losing sleep over MyLot. I've explained this quite a few times that the reason I bring it up in my Discussions or let people know that I haven't been around and / or will tend to my notifications when I can is so people here know that I am not forgetting about them or won't ignore them. When people are kind enough to read my posts and comment, I like to show them I am grateful and will never ignore them so I let them know I may be late replying. It's me, it's in my nature but in no way am I over thinking Mylot notifications. MyLot isn't my whole world. I hope you understand me.

I am so glad the first day was good. Do you like to interact with the kids? I imagine that tidying up the place is a never ending task there.

@VivaLaDani13 Kids are like that, they want all to talk together, hard to understand what they say or they want. It is insane how quickly they can mess up a place again. Good luck with that.

@LadyDuck Thank you so much Anna! I did like interacting with them. It's just a little hard sometimes because while one child is talking with me, another 2-3 could come up and all start talking over each other. oh and yes completely. There has literally been a few occasions where I have cleaned an area, walked away and in less than a minute it's messy again. It's insane!

Congrats on getting through your first day and doing so well. Little ones can be so tiring with all that energy, especially with no sleep. I hope you were able to get a good night's sleep.

@simone10 Oh I bet you do! Though, I must say, I have no idea what it's like to have my own children and not being able to sleep much due to having any. So I admire you as a mother who had to do that. I am not a mother but I can imagine what it must be like to raise your own children. Wonderful, fun, exciting etc as well as challenging, surprises, lack of sleep etc.

@simone10 Thank you so very much, I really appreciate that a lot. And that is so true. It can be a tad challenging cleaning up after them and trying to keep up with all the games they want to play etc. I was so tired that I wished I could have a nap during their nap time.

So glad to hear your first day went well! Perhaps as you get into a routine of being with the kids everyday that your sleep patterns may improve. The kids will wear you out all day long and then you'll go home exhausted and sleep!

By ****DANIELLE**** @VivaLaDani13 Take your time answering me. Get some sleep. It must have been a very busy day. What is Kindy Room? Did you have to sit on low chairs? You are quite welcome and do not know if any of my suggestions help you out or if you were able to see the e-mail I sent you this morning on an idea. I am glad you had a good first day.

@Hannihar Thank you very much for understanding. It has been very tiresome with the children and now I have a cold so I'm trying hard to get better so I can go back to the Childcare Centre. Kindy is like Kindergarten. Kindy is just for short. I do have to sit in low chairs. Very low chairs. So that can be a tad uncomfortable too sometimes. Thank you for your email. I promise to read and reply back as soon as possible.

@Hannihar No worries at all and thank you kindly. I don't think this cold is from over doing it. I was only there for two days. It's highly likely because I've not been in this situation before being surrounded by so many children at once and they are good little things for carrying various germs and viruses. I also got coughed on the first day by some little girl so maybe she was sick. I'm not sure really. I'm just trying to get better ASAP so I can go back there to finish my practical placement.

@VivaLaDani13 Kids can wear one out. Thank you for explaining what Kindy is. I am sorry you have a cold. Do you think you over did it by going back too soon because of just being sick? You are welcome for the e-mail. Whenever you can answer it. You have a lot to do so whenever you get it is fine with me.

By ****DANIELLE**** @VivaLaDani13 There are some things I cannot read. When I got to the part what was done to her I had to go out. I have Schindler's List on DVD and in the beginning the Nazis think it is funny or fun to use a Jewish baby as a football so I have to go out out of and not watch it. I cannot watch what was done to the Jews during the Holocaust. There are very few movies on that period that I can watch or have forced myself to watch. I feel there are those that never should have had kids and still feel that way. Can you imagine the scars that girl will carry around with her because of what they did not her. It is so so horrible.

@Hannihar I'm so extremely sorry Hanni but I actually don't know what girl you are talking about. I re-read this Discussion and cannot see what you are referring to. Could you please explain it to me? I haven't seen Schindler's List before but I actually plan on watching it. I have heard it's a very sad movie but I still want to watch it. I like to learn about history even if it's heartbreaking.

@Hannihar No worries Hanni. But yeah I understand what you're saying and where you're coming from. Anything such as that is just pure evil. And sadly there is so much of it that has happened and is happening right now. It's very sad.

@VivaLaDani13 I cannot remember what girl I was talking about. I just cannot watch what the Nazis did to my people and hating babies and children so much. I hope you have a lot of tissues when you watch it.
