I took hubby for a procedure yesterday. He left without a catheter. He could urinate on his own when he left.
He also took one strong antibiotic pill--standard practices. It made him sick at his stomach.
Ever since his treatment for prostate cancer, hubby has had issues in this area. He has had many many months of being catheterized, and re catheterized. He has a lot of internal scar tissue it seems.
As yesterday evening wore on, he drank all the fluids he was supposed to, but gradually became unable to urinate. We were trying to wait to drive to Wichita for "office hours" instead of the ER. At 3 a.m. he could not take it. We went to Wichita.
At the ER the very capable nurse was the one on duty. She has helped him before. She was unable to. help him. By then it was 7 a.m. and they had called the urologist to come in. He also had no luck, so took Bob to surgery, so he could be anesthetized.
Dr. W. says Bob is on his mind a lot because this is not making sense. He has a plan to act on next month. Bob is up from his nap, eating homemade bread and he looks good. Some pain he has been having since mid February seems to be gone. I sure hope so. I hope it just stays away.
So today, besides driving for about three hours total, and sitting for six and a half hours total, and a one hour nap at home and baking bread. I have done nothing. Tomorrow will be a better day.

The hard part is the driving in the dark, and then the city driving. A huge bird, likely a vulture, must have been on the center line cause it flew up and nearly hit the windshield.

@CarolDM The highway we take is sort of rural, so there is always the potential for a deer or another animal to be on it. It concerns me in the daytime and then even more if it is dark.

That nap was delicious. I am looking forward to bed time any time now, really.

You did a lot. It was just in the middle of the night. Glad he is feeling and looking better today.

I hope the doc can figure out the solution so that everyone can feel comfortable, and this is manageable soon.

It may be more surgery to remove some scar tissue.

It seems that (maybe, fingers crossed) what was done yesterday had the unintentional effect of fixing the pain that started all of this mid February. He feels better and is moving better than he has in a long time.
