How could this year already be half over?

Does it seem strange to you that this horrid year is more than half over?
Maybe we were so busy trying to avoid "THE VIRUS" that time passed without us looking.
I know there have been pandemics in the past, but most of us have never lived through one of this magnitude. Especially one that involved just about everyone on the planet.
Another thing that has had our attention is all the violence and lawlessness in our country. This is a rule of law, justice, and constitutional
protections issue. It is political and has nothing to do with saving lives, black or otherwise.
I know some won't agree with my opinion and that's okay. That's one of the great things about being an American...I can voice my opinion.
I hope I'm wrong, but I sure hope 2021 isn't an extension of everything that's gone on so far this year. I'm praying for a vaccine and a semi-return to normal, whatever that is.
It's really easy to get very depressed about everything that's happening, but I remind myself that God knows and cares about his children.
And my trust is in him, no matter what happens.

I, for one, am thankful this year is already half over. It's been a complete disaster. The sooner we can put 2020 behind us, the better! And you're right, we have to put our faith and trust in God that he will get us through this mess.

@moffittjc I agree. The Bible talks about evil prospering in many of its books. But so many are praying that because there are many Americans who love and obey God that he will intervene and rescue our nation. Not because any of deserve it, but because of his grace and mercy.

@1creekgirl Now if more people would just rekindle their faith and spirituality, we could all band together and support each other and help one another get through this.

This has been a really long first half of the year. I thought last year was the worst year ever but this year is certainly one for the record books!!! And not in a good way.

We're all crossing our fingers that 2021 would be a year of hope, a year of new beginnings for new normal.

I agree with you, whatever government impose to the citizen, the same seems not applied.. to some political leaders.

Politicians will most likely always do whatever they want to do.

It has been a rough year, and I would imagine that the next 12 months will not be a lot better with the predictions of a second and third spike.
We have been feeling the effects of covid since late January, as that was when people stopped their regular routine outings as people were just too afraid of this virus and were trying to avoid it.
Little did anyone know what we were in store for.
There is negativity in our country too, protests and things like that.
I think that a lot of it is just frustration over the current situation, a lot of people are out of work and out of money and they are jumping on whatever bandwagon they can to vent.

What started out as legitimate protests quickly turned into terrorism and anarchy.

This year certainly has been one for the record books. Never in a million years would I have believe all that's going on if you had told me in advance.
My daughter just bought me a coffee mug that says Faith Over Fear and it's words I'm living by. Only God can get us through this mess.

You are so right. Our faith has to be stronger than our fear. God's the only protection from all this evil.

I agree with you. The days, however, fly by all of the time for me. It seems like the older I get, the faster they go by. Our country sure is in a mess; and I hope next year will be better. Stay safe and healthy.
