Empty Nest Syndrome Today

Bluebird babies are gone. Fledged the nest. Earlier I went out to refresh the bird bath. Noticed the bluebirds were not being protective of the bluebird house. At first I thought something was wrong.
I was a little afraid to open the door on the house. You never know if a predator has gotten inside. That has happened in the past. I opened the door very slowly and they were gone. Empty house! All three have fledged.
They are somewhere in my yard. In a tree probably. I can hear and see the parents talking to them. I will eventually find them. Thankfully there are plenty of trees so they don't have to go far.
I will snap photos if I get lucky enough to find them. Now I have to clean the house out. Empty nest syndrome has arrived.
A little sad feeling when they leave. But I know I gave them a safe place to be born and I will hope for the best.

You did a great job providing a safe home for them while they were being raised. Now it's time for them to get out and explore the big world.

@CarolDM I think you will see them again. You certainly gave them a generous helping hand in getting their life started. Hopefully, as a result, they grow big and strong and live long, fruitful lives.

@moffittjc They are in the trees in the yard. I can hear the parents calling to them today.
