An old man of the sea, Bunbury, Western Australia

On Sunday, we went to a theatre in our nearest city and watched back to back foreign films. We had an hour to fill in between the two films so went for a short walk around the complex. There was some street art on one of the walls and I got Vince to take a photo of it with his phone.
I really admire these artists who can create such large works. There is such character in this lined face. When you get up close the irises show a reflection of a sailing boat but it’s probably not noticeable in a photo this size.

@JudyEv True... Had you not mentioned the ship I probably wouldn't have looked twice at the painting"s eyes.

i am always a little jealous of that gift. You can see huge things on what to me just looks like a wall! I wish I had that skill!

@DocAndersen I knew it had a 'proper' name but didn't know what it was.

Such paintings have some embedded deep meaning. Not everyone can make out.
Yet sometimes, many paintings sell at a high price but I wonder if many of these really have some significant meaning!

Street artists deserve more than they get. There is one here who is gluing lithographs of the same characters on walls since 30 years, and the city removes them since 30 years. I noticed that the same has been paid by a near city to put his art on a few walls...

I can clearly see the reflection of a sailing boat in the irises, but I couldn't notice it if you didn't tell us that.

I can see the boats. I have no artistic talent and am jealous of those that do!

Nice picture Judy, I wonder is that drawing on a wall? Looks so good and I am getting a passionate message from the drawing's eyes!

Yes, it's on a wall at the back of our entertainment centre. I think it is really good.
