My laptop is ill.

Covid has been nasty for human beings but also for gadgets. I cannot go to a hospital for my normal tests and appointments. I dread of entering a places full of the virus. But I cannot go out either to mend the problems that my laptop has. The battery is dying so I have to have it plugged all the time. That means no mobility for a gadget whose mobility is part of its grace. The tiny screws have fallen down and gotten lost. Now I have less than half of them so I take great care of finding them when it happens. And finally (last but not least) the letters of the keyboard have been deleted. I could paint others if I had a white pencil. I don´t. And there´s no place to go and find one. So, if you see a lot of misspelled words, it is not my fault, friends. There are many things we want to have. There are many things we need to buy even to replace what we have and it is not working. I need some screws to hang some pictures. Imposible now. Do you have some special problems in your everyday life?

The batteries of laptops never last long, they all die after only a couple of years of usage. Most of my keys on the keyboard are deleted, I am using it from 7 years, I do not need to look at the letters, I know what they are.

@marguicha I learned in school when I was young, I always look at the screen while I type, never at my keyboard.

What about buying a new battery and replacing it. Replacing a battery is really easy.

The places where they sell it are closed due to COVID.

The most common issue of laptops is the drying battery. The laptop I borrowed and using for months now have the same problem so I plug it when the battery level goes down to 70% and I unplug when it is full.

I am doing that. But I have to be aware of the battery all the time.

Sounds like it is time to bid the laptop Adieu. I have been using the one I am on for several years with no problem. I am thinking of buying another though and keeping this in reserve. I like it because it has a big screen.

Would nail polish work to paint on letters? My laptop only works if plugged in too. It's a pain when we go away.

I need white nail polish. And I don´t have it. There´s no way to buy those things now with the lockdown.
