What are you reading these days?

Ever since the library closed down due to the pandemic, and I've finished reading the few books I had purchased and those I found at home, there has been nothing to read.
Now that the libraries have reopened with the grab-and-go service for now I thought I'd be back to reading. Unfortunately, the books that I had placed on hold recently have yet to arrive there for pickup, even though I am number one on the list for all the holds. Wonder what's taking so long...
I miss reading! I might just have to cave in and buy some books. The books I definitely want to get have not been released yet. I guess I may have to get those books I kinda want to read but can't bring myself to spend money on. I can use my online earnings for that.

Do you still have the same interest in the books now that you are re-reading them? Trying to remember if I've ever re-read any books.

@lovebuglena that's a good question. Part historical with a dash of sci-fi. I love it and I don't like sci-fi or fantasty stuff.

@NJChicaa I enjoy watching historical fiction and I think I've read some books in that genre. Maybe I will enjoy this series.

Or try a different category of books for a while. Do you like autobiographies? I love to read those and historical fiction. Do you like Robin Cook and Michael Crichton? Two of my favorite authors. I still haven't started to read again. I've been working on jigsaw puzzles.

@LindaOHio The more challenging, the more interesting it becomes to do them. I usually do the border first and then fill in the rest.

I am not sure if I've ever read autobiographies. I've read a book by Lauren Graham but that could've been a memoir. I have not heard of Robin Cook but heard of Michael Crichton I think. Not sure on what books either of them write.
I wanna start another jigsaw puzzle. I finally put away the done I had one last week.

@sophie09 I remember there was one book I was reading. It was super big. I think close to 1000 pages. It took many months to read that. I thought I was never gonna finish it.

Hopefully you'll get the books you're waiting for from the library. Books are expensive if you buy them new.
I just finished reading Killer Instinct by James Patterson

And more expensive if you get hardcovers. I prefer only those though I've bought paperbacks as well. And recently.

@lovebuglena I started listening to them while driving. They are great for that. Since being home so much I have used them because I can borrow on line, even while library was closed. Good for while I am walking now.

I haven’t been out of ready material yet. I go to the library and I also buy books. So I’ve had plenty of books to read. Our library opened a few days ago so I picked up abook there.Right now I’m reading one of mine. It’s not the best book I’ve ever read but it’s okay. It’s Tailspin by Catherine Coulter.

@lovebuglena It’s quiet interesting after reading awhile but I just started the new book by the niece of President Trump. I might give Tailspin a Rest until I read it.

I love reading too, even if its English books! I have two books on hold to read, call me silly but I am reading "The Carrie Diaries" which follows the adventures of a younger Carrie Bradshaw before coming to New York City. It is a story before of S*x and the City. Have you ever heard of or seen the series?

I've heard of the TV series and the movie. I don't remember if I've ever seen either of them. The title of the book sounds interesting.

Mostly I've just been reading online stuff. Different online blogs and websites I follow dealing with finances, leadership, growth & development and things like that. Not currently reading any books though.

I guess that can count as reading. Are you reading these things just because you find it interesting or are you trying to grow and improve in a certain aspect of your life...?

It happens sometimes. I had a period where I hardly read. Now I am back to reading. Though have not read anything for a few months.
