Woke up this morning. First thing was to wash the sheets. I do it every Saturday. Into the washing machine they went.
Picked up the laundry basket to get ready for the second load and Bam, it hit me. Today is Friday. Yep, a day early on laundry.
Not a big deal about the laundry but getting the day wrong was not a good feeling. I don't know what I was thinking. Or maybe I wasn't thinking at all.
Ever have a day like that? Not knowing what day it really is? Was reminded of this Chicago song and had to share.
Chicago Transit Authority's hit from their self titled first album. This is the full version with the piano intro by Robert Lamm. Unlike the radio edits, thi...

@caroldm “Do you know what day this is?” is a common question doctors ask patients if they suspect dementia! I was with an elderly lady once brought into hospital with dehydration . I think it must have been the doctor’s first old person and he didn’t know what to do. He asked “Do you know where you are dear?” In a loud and patronising voice even though she wasn’t deaf. She looked quite indignant and said “Yes, I’m in Istanbul. God told me to go to Istanbul so here I am”. It took the doctor a while to realise she was playing with him.

Happens all the time. My husband is worse than I am. He's constantly asking me what day it is. Have a good weekend.

@CarolDM My husband sleeps at odd hours. He will wake up, see that it's dark and want to know if it's morning or night.

I have a few built-in reminders. I get a balance statement texted to me every Thursday from American Express, so I know it’s laundry day.

I have been getting the days wrong for about the last 4 months. Between quarantines, lockdowns, and working from home, I never know if I'm coming or going.

@CarolDM It can be easy to lose track of the days if you're not following any kind of set routine.

My wife is manifesting that attitude sometimes. She's a busy body. When she has asked me what day today, I often laughed and gave her a hug. She's already 68 years old. She'll be turning 69 comes October.

Being retired who cares what day it is?!?!? The only day I really know is Thursday because that is when my friend Allen stops by to pick me up to go shopping!! Oh, yes, I know when it is Sunday--that's when I get the newspaper!!
Oh I usually know the day and date when I turn my computer monitor on but so what?!

Lately, I've had days like these. It feels like one day but it's actually a different day.
