Living in the Mountains

I went for my walk today and saw an old friend we hadn't run into in several months. We shouted at each other and caught up a bit. They had been to their cabin in the mountains and had come home to check on everything. They were leaving again tomorrow. Their cabin is near a lake and they have been boating and fishing. I suppose it's the safest place to be at this time. He said few people are there and they see practically nobody. I'm not sure I'd want to be that isolated but they seem to enjoy it. Really we are isolated ourselves. We don't see people and only go out when it's necessary. We communicate on the phone and that's about it. I hope all of you are keeping safe wherever you are.

I'd love to spend a couple of weeks up in that mountain cabin. It would be a sweet spot for writing and taking life easy.

And it's cool in the mountains. I might like to go for a week or so but I don't believe I'd be happy there all summer.

It's nice that you saw your friends. I've recommenced seeing my best friend for lunch once a week. She comes here once a week, I go to her the next week. We're allowed to do that now.

@jaboUK Help was probably on the way when the covid hit in your country. Our president still makes light of it and says everything is going well. But our hospitals are full and we don’t have near enough testing supplies not even for doctors and nurses who are exposed every day.

I too! hope we can all get through this virus and come through the others side safely. It’s been with us about eight months now. Seems like a long time.

@RubyHawk I cannot remember when it started here. It seems like it has been going on forever. I just hope that something is found so we do not have to wear the masks again.

@Hannihar So do I. We wear a mask every time we go out. Leo has a doctors appointment in the morning. They will take his temperature and see that he’s wearing a mask at the entrance and writing him a pass to go in the doctors office.

@CarolDM I don’t like the curvey roads. Those narrow roads and curves are dangerous.

I feel safe in our very small town, I would not like to be too much isolated, I would not feel comfortable. What if you need to be rushed to the ER?

We are keeping safe. My brother has to go out twice a week to work but is home the rest of the week. I don't go out unless it's to the doctor or dentist.

Glad you saw your friend and they are enjoying their cabin. I don't go out of the house but once a week unless to the doctor. Even some of the doctor visits are on the laptop which I like a lot better.

I wish I had a cabin in the mountains to go to. I would not consider it a bad isolation if I could get outside and enjoy nature. I am always happiest when I'm out in nature.
