Cherry On Top

What is the most expensive thing you last bought at the grocery store? Well, for me it was the flea/tick medicine for my dogs. But the price of the cherries is what surprised me. Seven dollars for a sack seemed like a lot, but the last time I bought any was a couple of years ago. I love cherries, but the price always held me off. Did you know cherries are supposed to be a natural sleep aid? Do you like them?

I'd have to think about that. I try not to buy too many expensive things at the store. Maybe, shrimp...that's not cheap.

I bought some cherries not too long ago and they were expensive, but worth it.
I didn't know that cherries were a natural sleep aid.
We stopped and bought some sweet corn on Sunday, that was $8 for a dozen, or $4 for just 6 ears.
I find that steep.

I didn't know that about cherries. I like the dark, sweet cherries. Beef is probably the most expensive thing we've bought at the grocery store. Have a wonderful Thursday.

Ow. That does seem a lot. Lucky me I don't like them. At least that kind. I like the bright red ones you put on drinks or ice cream instead

It seems to me that a lot of stuff is going up in price. Not only in the grocery stores but also with the services - such as carpet cleaning and plumbing - stuff like that. They lost business during covid and are now upping their prices to make up for it. Can't really say as I blame them for having to make enough to support their families. Some of these businesses though also got a break in paying their employees - some businesses got all of their employees paychecks paid for. The owners of the businesses do not ever have to pay that back. Yet that will not be reflected in the prices for a lot of them. Some of the more honest ones will pass on the savings - yet not all of them. I've gotten a little off track so let's get back on track. I don't really worry too much about the price of stuff at the stores as I am someone that will watch the sales each week and pretty much just buy what is on sale. What is great about that is that each week different stores have different sales and that allows me to buy everything i need yet not pay full price for hardly anything. We just eat what was on sale that week. And sense the sales constantly change, we are not bored eating the same stuff all the time.
