Riots in my Town

It's way early especially when I didn't fall asleep till about 2 am and woke up at 4 am. I was up late due to the rioting going on here in the city I live in. I'm not sure if you all have heard or not but here in Kenosha, WI there was a police shooting on Sunday. The police shot a black man and Sunday night was some rioting and then last night (Monday) there was even more rioting. I am not going to get into the shooting just because I was not there and have no idea exactly what happened. Of course there are many different stories about how it went down. What I will talk about is the rioting, notice I do not call it a protest as the news keeps calling it. There was protest during the day on Monday, people walking the street with signs but nothing got broke into and nothing got lit on fire. However, on Sunday and even worse last night was rioters, they come out at night and places are being broke into and places lit on fire, that is not a protest. Here is something you wont hear on the news I am sure. I was listening to the police scanner and something that came up a few times is a license plate run from out of state and the running of ID from out of state. Of the ones that I heard was 3 plates from Illinois and one from Ohio and the ID that I hear was from Illinois too. In the past some were trying to say people were not coming from other places and some said they were. Well this tells me that people are coming in from other areas to at least insight these riots. That can be the only reason they come all this way in the middle of the night and are in the middle of all this. I turned on the scanner again this morning and although it is not as busy as between 11 pm and 2 am it is still going on from what I am hearing. Thankfully for me this is all happening about 5 miles across town from me so it is not to close to where I am.

I have become more and more suspect of ALL of this stuff happening right before the election. It just becomes all too convenient in solidifying the left's narratives. So much of what is happening right now I think is fully orchestrated and perpetuated by the left. The unrest, racial division, Covid-19. It is just getting to be too uncanny. I have become quite the skeptic lately of everything. People coming from out of town only helps to inform me that SOMEONE is behind all of this.

I don't want to think that anyone is planning these kind of things but sometimes it is hard not to think that way. I do think that someone or some group is behind insighting these riots.

@porwest Come November we are really in for it. Either way, no matter who wins we are all going to lose.

@Bensen32 I don't put anything past anyone these days. The left is a very horrible group that was VERY angry and bent out of shape over Trump's win. Additionally, the more the left tried to get him out and failed, the more angry and bent out of shape they got. If we can believe that a man can reach a breaking point in which he decides to kill his wife, there is no doubt in my mind that we can influence a cop to kill someone and to incite people to be outraged over it. Power, and the desire to harness it, is a very real thing and sometimes it is downright dangerous. I think that is where we are right now.

If I was a police officer, I'd be scared as hell to shoot a minority suspect these days, especially in light of all that has been going on this year. I wouldn't want to feel guilty for riots taking place in my community. Now, that's not to say that the police aren't justified in shooting someone if the need warrants such action, I'm just saying I wouldn't want to be that cop firing that weapon.

@Bensen32 I haven't followed the story closely to even know what happened, so I can't pass judgement on whether the shooting was justified or unjustified.

Right you would think he thought he had no choice but to shoot.

I'm glad it's not close to you. It's scary enough being in your city I would think.

more crazy than scary. Maybe if they were on my front door that might be different. But then again if they are worried about getting shot they might not want to come to my front door.

@Bensen32 I am sad that if I shot someone invading my house and trying to hurt me, *I* might get arrested.

@amitkokiladitya not sure what that means but at this point we don't have all the details but that is not stopping people from rioting.
