Have been on the phone most of the morning checking on my friends in the path of hurricane Laura. The storm started out as a category one. Not too bad. But then it was upgraded to a four, which means winds of 150 miles per hour.
Many did not evacuate. Thinking it would not be too bad. They are trying to rescue those people now. Some houses were demolished, others flooded, some not affected at all.
Finally was able to talk to my friends and they are all safe. They all evacuated with their families and pets to a shelter.
Still waiting to see if their homes survived. These storms can be so unpredictable.

That is terrible. Some people have insurance, but others lose it all
