Friends Are Safe From The Hurricane

Have been on the phone most of the morning checking on my friends in the path of hurricane Laura. The storm started out as a category one. Not too bad. But then it was upgraded to a four, which means winds of 150 miles per hour. Many did not evacuate. Thinking it would not be too bad. They are trying to rescue those people now. Some houses were demolished, others flooded, some not affected at all. Finally was able to talk to my friends and they are all safe. They all evacuated with their families and pets to a shelter. Still waiting to see if their homes survived. These storms can be so unpredictable.

@CarolDM That is not good news. These hurricanes leave so much destruction. So glad your friends are safe. So glad they got out with their pets too.

@CarolDM I am so glad they are safe and you are so welcome. It is very scary not knowing if those you care about are ok or not.

That's great news. I wish I could remember the My Lotter's name who is from Lake Charles. I hope he is okay.

That is terrible. Some people have insurance, but others lose it all

That is good news of relief that they are safe. We had a storm tear thru here a few hours ago that was full of wind, rain, thunder and lightening. We actually lost our power for an hour, that hasn't happened since 1999.

Last night before we went to bed, the news was saying that it would be "unsurvivable" - so I was wondering what news I would be waking up to. I'm glad your friends are all safe . . . I hope their homes got through it!
