Another sleepless night here / myLot

I just woke up form a nap as I am getting ready to be up for another night as unrest happens in the city I live in. If you have seen the last few days there have been riots and protest in Kenosha, WI and the authorities were saying today that they expect more tonight. I was really hoping that they would be over. The weather outside right now is just terrible. Here it is 8 pm and the air temperature is at 85 F (29 C) but with the humidity at 66% it feels like it is 92 F (33 C). This at 8 PM as the sun is going down and it is cooling off, yeah that is right this is cooler then it was earlier when the sun was out. I hope this time finds you all safe and healthy. I don't know if any of you are affected by Hurricane Laura or not but my thoughts go out to those that are. Sounds and looks terrible from what I have seen today. I pray you won't be affected by rioters, I just don't get people sometimes. I'm praying for anyone who got caught in the mess of that hurricane but I did read that they were evacuating people before hand. I hope that worked out better this time than it did with Hurricane Harvey.

I don't get the riots either and hopefully there wont be any tonight but we will see. Hopefully the people are okay down there. looks like a lot of damage.

El Paso is the far west corner of TX, we're at least 700 or more miles from any seashore @Bensen32

It is really uncomfortable to have this kind of weather. I cannot also sleep if I were in your shoes.

Well thankfully I have Air conditioning so the house is cool. It's more of a choice not to sleep and instead be awake and aware of anything going on in my neighborhood so that I am not surprised in the middle of the night.

How far do you live from where the bulk of the protests have been happening? Our trouble has been downtown, and I don't live anywhere near downtown. However, this week they had a march near Churchill Downs, which is close enough to where I live for me to have left town for a couple of days.

The major stuff was about 2 miles from my house but last night there was an attempt to brake into a place about 200 yards or less from my front door. I mention that in one of my last posts.
