Mixing Decaf in with regular coffee

Some coffee purists might consider this to be a sin, but I have started doing this, as I find it helps with my sleep. I am pretty caffeine sensitive, and it seems like the less I have the better I sleep, the more rested I am, and the better my BP is...so bring on the decaf. I think regular coffee is also good for you though as an antioxidant, so hopefully by mixing, I will get the best of both worlds. Do you ever mix, or are you a coffee purist?

Let's say that I am a coffee purist, I simply do not drink coffee after 2 pm to avoid sleeping problems.

I usually only drink in the morning...but then I tend to drink Ice tea. I haven't been drinking as much of that recently either.

@snowy22315 Well tea contains caffeine too. If you buy decaffeinated be sure to buy "naturally decaffeinated or Swiss water processed", the other methods involves chemicals, I would avoid.

You can always get half caf which I get some times but I like regular caffeinated drinks. The only time I do decaf was when I was pregnant and if they are out of regular coffee

Half caf is good, but sometimes they charge more than it is worth. You have to get it in the right place.

@ShyBear88 It really depends on where you shop. I have looked at it in several stores, but only buy it in one or two that are reasonably priced.

I think decaf is fine, although I do think regular coffee tastes better.

@gr8nana6 Modern day ground decaf is pretty good...although I admit Sanka, and some of the decaf of old was pretty bad... I kind of feel the same way about instant coffee, it is only to be used in case of emergency..

It's good to do whatever will help you the most. I only have one cup of regular coffee in the morning, but it doesn't affect my sleep. I took a nap right after having it this morning. I got soaked on my morning walk from a surprise shower.

Oh wow, we were walking the other day when it started sprinkling...but it looked like it could rain anytime so I had a jacket with me.

Since caffeine doesn't affect me I wouldn't mix it but I would if I needed to. Hope it helps you and you can enjoy your coffee without all the caffeine.

I don't drink much coffee as it doesn't agree with me too much I did look up the difference in anti oxidants between normal and decaf and from what I read the difference was a max of 15% possible with decaf as opposed to normal. If it was me I'd stick to decaf as, in my opinion, the difference is somewhat negligible but the benefits greater

Well, I like regular coffee...one thing I have read is that regular coffee protects againsts Alzheimers but the same benefit is not noted with decaf, so there is a reason to drink regular...and I think it tastes better overall.
