So... I'm pissed

We used to go to the same restaurant every Tuesday and Friday, but since the pandemic hit we've stayed home and ordered on Friday's instead... Well, with the exception of a few weeks where our old waitress was the one taking our order, we've had issues with our food. That is, almost every time we've ordered there's been something wrong with the order.
I'm absolutely tired of it. If it was up to me, we'd stop ordering from the place period, but it's not up to me. Even so, the manager will be getting a stern earful in a few minutes when he comes in for the evening.
It doesn't matter how I order it, they always seem to get something wrong. It's always a different person so I can't very well blame just one person either. It's also not the same thing that they get wrong.
I feel old saying this, but "Customer service used to mean something."
Now not only am I pissed because I didn't get the food that I "cheat" with, but because I'm not sure if I'm the frame of mind to go back to my writing..

And they're trying to tell us that this 'new normal' of doing everything online or by phone is just as good as being there in person.
And the people trying to convince us of this are usually mindless TV presenters conducting a skype/zoom interview that keeps freezing and/or dropping out!!

I get a little tickled when things go wrong on live tv because of the zoom / skype interviews.
They straightened it out for me. I guess we could go there and order it in person, but that's twenty minutes we'd have to sit and twiddle our thumbs.

@WorDazza This one?
The idea of living underground has been explored a lot over the years in science fiction.
The Machine Stops - Kindle edition by Forster, E. M.. Download it once and read it on your Kindle device, PC, phones or tablets. Use features like bookmarks, note taking and highlighting while reading The Machine Stops.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I always hope those interviews go horribly wrong. Might make people realise it's a poor second to the real thing.
At a time like this "The Machine Stops" by E.M.Forster should be compulsory reading for everyone. Written in about 1909 it is eerily predictive of where we are heading as a society.

Customer service is terrible, most of the time. I've plainly stated something over two or three times and had it goofed up! What I'm finding out about ordering by phone, 'Many of those people do not listen!'

The lady on the phone today told me that we weren't the only ones calling to complain about it. She's giving us the next order for free, thankfully.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Now that will make things a little better, showing their regular customers some common courtesy.

@kobesbuddy I told her, "We've been coming there for twenty years or more, and this is ridiculous!"

Honestly, I feel like this happens to me more than not anymore. I mean everywhere we order seems to mess up our order in some way and while most make it right it's like why is this happening so frequently? I get everyone has a bad day but it shouldn't be happening as often as it does. I also feel horrible always complaining because it sounds like I just want free food which isn't the case I just want MY food that I ordered. I even let some stuff go if it's minor even if it does partially ruin it for me.

@ScribbledAdNauseum I don't get why they don't double check things before they go out. I could understand once in a while because people make mistakes but it shouldn't be more often than not. It's frustrating and then sometimes they act like you're just complaining to complain. It makes me feel like they think I'm trying to get free food out of them which I'm not I just want what I ordered.

@sissy15 Yeah, I get pissed at those who act like I'm trying to get one over on them. Luckily that doesn't happen to me a lot, but when it does I usually shut them down real quick. I don't like complaining and I don't like conflict, but when I have to complain they are going to know about it. I'll be nice at first, but sometimes that doesn't work.

We will sometimes have trouble with Marco's Pizza. This isn't the place we were having trouble with this time though. I call Marco's and let them know how they messed up and usually end up getting money off my next order, but like you said, why should I have to keep calling? They need to fix whatever is wrong.

Sounds like the manager needs to do something about this.

@Tina30219 Thanks. I am sure it will be. It's run by a Greek family.

I talked to the owner's daughter yesterday. I told her we've been coming for over twenty years and we're tired of the mix ups.

I've been to a restaurant twice since this pandemic started. We order in if I don't cook.

It's a small restaurant. The owner only owns two of them, but I was actually talking to his daughter on the phone. I'm sure they'll straighten it out.

I hate negative energy and try to dispel it as soon as I feel it, but yesterday I stewed in it until I could talk to someone in charge.

I rarely have issues with the food I order but I usually use doordash and if it is wrong they credit me back.

We order it ourselves... I did get them to give me my next meal free.

I've received packages like that. I wondered if they just threw the things in to fill their quota for the hour or something.

@ScribbledAdNauseum They also put in my package a Personalized card that was not for me. I am going to tell them, the one who received a gift will not even know who sent it.

Apparently they have an all new staff who doesn't seem to be on point. I talked to the owner's daughter and she told me that they are implementing a rule where they have to call back the order. She also is giving me a free meal.

That stinks. I'm sure to hear that. I'm sure you'll find a new restaurant to order food from and have it delivered like via Grub Hub, Door Dash, etc.

If it was up to me, we'd stop ordering from the place period, but it's not up to me.
My family and I split what days we decide on food. Friday's isn't my day to decide, and so as I said in my discussion (and what I've copied and pasted here) it's not up to me to decide.

They said they were going to train the waitresses to read the order back to us. They also are going to give us a credit because of the mix up.

The manager should definitely be told about the problem. Customer service needs to become #1 in this nation again. It's been sadly lacking over the past couple of decades. Good luck!

Thank You. I called them the same day I wrote this discussion and told them what-for. They were quick to give me money off my order.
