Laptops

I don't know if I should love or hate laptops. I was just about finished with a post when the screen changed and I lost everything. So, I'm starting again.
I've spent two days icing my leg to get the swelling down. Yesterday, I was in bed all afternoon with my knee elevated with ice and this morning the swelling was almost nothing, which made me very happy.
Right now I'm in bed with ice. It's swollen, but not like it has been, which is a good thing. I don't have my leg elevated at the moment as I'm on the laptop. I thought I would come here for a little bit to let you know I haven't forgotten you.
I did get the staples out this morning and got the paperwork for the next surgery date. I do need to bend the knee a lot before they will do the next knee. I'm a little behind in that progress, but I will get it where it needs to be. I have three and a half weeks to get it where it needs to be and three weeks of therapy after this week.
I'm doing my exercises, so that's going well. I'm also making progress with my leg. I'm lifting it off the floor now, and I got my shoe on myself instead of my friend doing it for me when she arrived. Showering is easier too.
My pool friend who loaned me her walker, stopped by to pick it up and brought me a fruit basket and card from my pool pals. They are the best in the world. I'm so lucky to have the friends I do.
Okay, that's my update. I need to get my leg elevated. I'll be back more as the knee progresses. Thanks for reading. No image. I don't want to lose this while I search for one.

I tried my son’s laptop in the past, but I didn’t like it.

@just4him maybe I didn’t give it long enough of a try.

Thank you. Yes, it was bad to lose everything, but it happens. One day I'll get the hang of laptops and then maybe it won't be as bad anymore.
Thank you. That was very nice of them.
Thank you. I'm hoping the next surgery goes as well or better since I know what to expect.

So do you write directly in the mylot screen? I do that too, more than I should as things disappear for me too so often I'll try especially when it's a longer post to write on Evernote first which is free and then copy paste it here.

@just4him I think we can lose anything we've written on most any device.
Btw, I peeked at your web page, very nice. Who does your book covers or is that a program?

@MarshaMusselman Thank you. Scarred is a picture I took with a camera phone I had many years ago. The publishing house I went with worked with it to make it authentic. I needed to have it photo edited with the second edition as it had satellite navigation on one of the masts. There wasn't satellite navigation in the 1700s. So Scarred is perfect now. The pictures for Manifest Destiny and Stowaway were generic pictures I chose from CreateSpace, which is now KDP Direct. Freedom's Cry was done for me by the editor. Thread of Evidence and Legacy were pictures from Pixabay. My son is doing the cover for Vendetta.

I never know what's going to happen when I work on the laptop. The cursor goes where it wants.
Yes, things are going well. Right now, I'm spending most of my time in bed with ice packs on my leg to get the swelling down and doing the exercises given to me by the therapist. I'm doing better every day.

@just4him That can happen with the cursor, and that would be annoying!
Glad to hear they are going well...and that you are doing better every day

I have a laptop at home but I find the desktop much more comfortable than the laptop. I work from home from my desktop. So my husband uses laptop.

@LotusEyes My leg is doing well. Almost no pain now. I need to keep my leg up to prevent swelling. I also need to ice it. So, I am in bed, the only way to keep my leg up. So, yes, I'm on my laptop. I only use my computer for the Daily Bible Study.

@just4him Oh!! So you need to use a laptop right now. Do not sit for long periods due to surgery as it may hurt your leg

I hate using the scroll pad on my laptop. It just does whatever it wants. So I got an adapter that allows me to use a mouse. So much better.

I've had that happen with information I've written on my laptop. If I could only figure out what key I hit or what I did to erase that post? Extremely frustrating and my first version is always the best one.
From friends who have had knee surgeries it takes quite some time to heal depending on what was done. As they say time heals, and a little prayer can't hurt either. Wishing your recovery improves quickly!

What are friends for if they're not helpful, thoughtful and caring?
