Just another day really, work come home and relax and hope my feet stop hurting. They are getting better with each day. Just can’t wait till they don’t hurt anymore. A lady at work invited me to a Halloween party she is having this coming weekend. I guess a bunch of people from work are going to be there. I did thank her for the invite, that was nice of her. I’m not really one to go to such a party, especially when I heard some people talking about last years party and how quite a few people got really drunk. That is not something I want to be part of since I don’t drink that does not appeal to me. It’s just after 7 pm and almost time for me to sleep, hope you all have a good night, just wanted to say hello.

You should go to the party and make an appearance, it will score you bonus points with your team. Then tell the host that you can't stay because you have to pick your son up or something like that, but you just wanted to stop by and see everyone. It will mean a lot that you made an appearance, even if brief.

@Bensen32 Well, it depends on how handsome your face is! lol Or, it depends on how pretty the faces are of the ladies that will be in attendance!

I thought about that but then I thought do I really want to drive 45 minutes one way just to show my face?

I know that it is embarrassing to say no, but you did the right thing. Drunk people during this pandemic are extremely dangerous.

@Bensen32 I dislike drunk people anytime, but they are even more dangerous during the pandemic, they surely do not respect distancing.

@LadyDuck That is very true. LOL why is it drunk people think they have to be right in your face when they talk to you? That is so annoying.

Oh, the pandemic didn't even cross my mind. I just don't care to be around drunk people at anytime.

I think it is a good idea not to go for parties at this point in time.

it's hard when you don't drink and people expect you to drink just a bit, just this once.

LOL, yeah, I have gotten past that, at my age I don't fall for that kind of thing. Well, even when I was a teen I didn't fall for that kind of thing.

I let her know that I appreciate the invite but I would not be coming. I told her that I was not one for parties since I don't drink and she said she understood.

For the most part I have never been a guy who wishes to 'associate' with coworkers outside of work. No real reason, I suppose other than I have always thought it to be important to distinguish between work and play. They are just different environments, and I am not sure I want my work acquaintances to know that much about my personal life, other than what I am willing to share. The dynamic at my current workplace is a bit different as my boss is actually my brother-in-law and my coworker is a friend. So it is a little bit different.

I guess I have been that way with most of my jobs too. I make acquaintances more than friends at work. I do like to keep most of my life to myself at work.

It was very nice for them to invite me. Being brand new in the job they really don't know me.
