Why can't we post a discussion from the earnings page?

I usually never do that but recently I started writing a discussion while I was in the earnings page and didn't even realize that's what I was doing. I clicked the Start Discussion button and it was buffering but it didn't actually post the discussion. I had to copy everything I had written, close the discussion window, get away from the earnings page to a different mylot page, and then start a discussion and paste that text in there for the discussion to actually post. I still don't get why posting a discussion when you are in the earnings page doesn't actually work. That just makes no sense. Good thing I copied the text before closing the window or I'd have to start writing the discussion from scratch and I'd definitely not remember word for word what I had written before.

I didn't know there was an issue.
Only post a couple of discussions a year and I just hit discuss from whatever page and it works

It never works from the earnings page. It just sits there buffering and doesn't post. At least that is the case on my end. I don't think I am that special that it only happens to me.

@lovebuglena I'll test it with a discussion then delete the discussion and get back to you.

@lovebuglena tested and you are right.
Can't post a discussion if you hit discuss from the earnings page.
So, I'd just do it from elsewhere

It never has worked. I get really angry with myself when I forget that.
