Flannel Nightgowns

It is the season for warm pajamas and lounging clothes. I got out a flannel nightgown I bought in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. On a Fourth of July weekend. I was very cold there. My night gown is not one of those frilly ones but it is one that is very plain and looks like a night shirt, with a button placket. It has pictures of many different light houses. It is looser now than when I bought it. I guess I am trending smaller. We ate. I have washed all the dishes. I made hummus, then took a shower. I will enjoy the hummus tomorrow on some Keto bread. I often find flannel night clothes too hot to sleep in, but just right for lounging around.

If you were here you would be lounging around in thick warm thermals with a pair of gloves on, and maybe a hat lol. It's been bitter all day.

If I was lounging, that is likely. I keep moving, though, and then I sweat.

@GardenGerty No danger of sweating here at the moment. 5C, not even 6pm

@JimBo452020 If I were there I would likely crawl in a warm cozy bed.

Flannel is one type of fabric that is warm. I cannot wear sweat clothes to work, so I wear layers.

We actually had to turn the AC on today. It was very humid and sticky inside. I am not ready for the flannel sheets or nightgowns!! Not a cold weather person. We should dip into the 40's later this week and I asked hubby where he wanted to go. I was ready to book a room somewhere with good heat. This house is too drafty.

I have one nightie that's so comfy and cosy that I hate having to get dressed when I have it on. It's not flannel and not terry cloth, but something inbetween in a waffle weave.

My mom would have called the waffle fabric "pique" I believe. I can identify with it being a favorite.

@rakski We have had some cold days in the last two weeks and some really hot days. Today should be "just right", then we will cool off again.

I do not like it all the time. It is easier to roll over in bed in something silky.

I think that I could happily live in pjs... I still remember those days when flannel nightgowns were the rage!!

I had quite a few in my lifetime. I do not necessarily want to live in pjs, but I like soft knit leggings and soft cuddly shirts.

I usually only wear a t-shirt to sleep, I like a warm duvet, but I feel too warm if I wear more.

T shirt knit is the most universally comfortable, I think.

@GardenGerty It's fine, because I like to read in bed, at least I do not get cold shoulders.

I like this bread okay. It does not really taste like the bread I like, but I have to do something to reduce grains for my blood sugar.

@GardenGerty I've made the low carb pizza crust. I used almond flour. It was okay but also had a different taste.

Is Keto bread made of things like rice?

No. Rice is very high carb. The recipe I have has almond flour, and coconut flour, and I stirred in flax seed meal today. Walmart has a nut blend flour that combines almond, coconut, flax seed and walnut flour. I let the bag I had get buggy or I would just use that.

I love flannel and would wear it all the time if it weren't so hot here most of the year. But I definitely always have a flannel gown for when it does get cold - day or night

I have a fluffy bathrobe I will wear over anything. Truly a "house coat".
