Slow Cooker Weather Soon

Today is sunny with lots of wind. The leaves are falling by the minute. The trees will be bare in a few weeks. Tonight we have a freeze warning. Tomorrow I will get the slow cooker out. Love cooking all kinds of dishes in the slow cooker. Many have tried to convince me the Insta Pot is what I need. I am satisfied with cooking stews, roasts, soups, all kinds of meals in my slow cooker for hours. Tomorrow I will start with a beef stew. Enjoy the first day of November everyone.

Mmm. Beef stew. That sounds really yummy right about now. I will be using the crock pot more this year than ever before. At least that's the plan.

I wish i knew how to cook with one, based on the foods i eat. Ive seen alot of people going back and forth on noth as to switchbis better

@CarolDM thanks! We are really plain janes so chicken with just salt, pepper and garlic salt but wouldnt know how to cook it in that. And we use the cooked prefect Italian meatballs with hunts sauce and seasoning my mom puts in, usually takes 32ish minutes on stove but makes a mess cuz we dont use cover.. no idea what else could be made in it?

@Courtlynn Well, we all have to figure out what is best for us. A whole chicken could cook in 3-4 hours. It needs to cook slow. I don't know anything about the Insta pots, they cook faster.

@much2say Not really, I am not a big meat eater lately. But roasts and chicken are really good, and soup.

Its a very windy cold day here today. The leaves are quickly dropping from the trees now. I have a roast beef in our slow cooker.

That's good for you. I'm just wondering why is it called slow cooker? Does it have a time or a control? How does it differ from other regular cooker?

It cooks slow, set the timer and it cooks for hours.

I'm a day ahead of you with the slow cooker. I'm making stew today since its rainy and nasty I haven't transitioned to an insta pot since I like slow cooking so I'm happy with my trusty crock pot
