An interesting hike with a friend the other day

My current hiking buddy, Rob, and I took a hike at the Berkeley Bulb the other day. It's an interesting place. It is largely landfill, with huge slabs of concrete complete with boot-grabbing rebar everywhere. It used to be a homeless encampment, but it has become a place for local artists to do graffiti art, build things out of driftwood, old bumpers, and fallen branches, and in general be spontaneous. You can stumble down to the San Francisco Bay, or stay in the "highlands" and admire, or even contribute to, the art that's there. Of course, we did both. I'll attach a photo of what we call the "sun goddess." She is looking pretty much due South, and the sun shines directly upon her around Noon. Have you ever explored (or created) "junk art"?

No, I'm not into junk art; but there are some really creative people out there.

I think it's really cool to make something out of "nothing." Entropy be damned!

How big is that thing? Looks a bit like a funky teepee.

There was some cool flora on the high ground at this place. Also a burrowing owl sanctuary. The broken cement and rebar make up the "beach"

In my dreams! I did add a few sticks to this hut, though.

@JudyEv It's a cool hut. I think it will survive the winter winds.

That's Berkeley, or perhaps Albany, in the background. I framed her with human-made repeater towers for a reason.
