For the past ten days I’ve been celebrating Scottish musicians in tribute to myLotter @JiimBo452020 . I hope you’ve enjoyed this, and I hope he’s enjoyed it, too! Here’s the guy at the top. No surprise....except, “He’s Scottish?” #1: David Byrne Last year he became an American citizen, but he was born in Scotland. His family moved to Canada when he was two, then to the U.S. when he was seven. From there, he went to art school at the Rhode Island School of Design, where he met two other students: Tina Weymouth and her boyfriend, Chris Frantz. Add Harvard grad Jerry Harrison and you get Talking Heads. And with Talking Heads you get some of the best music of the late 70s and 80s. One of my all-time favorite bands. It broke my heart when they broke up. Byrne, to his credit, has ruled out a big-bucks reunion tour. Also, to his credit, he put all the animosity that broke Talking Heads up aside and appeared with — and performed with — his former band mates when the band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. (And that breakup was bitter: Tina Weymouth said their lawyer asked her if she’d ever been divorced and she said no, and the lawyer said, ”This is a divorce.” ) That, as Chris Frantz said, gave the band a happy ending. And that’s the happy ending of this countdown. Cheers to JimBo, and thanks for reading! No Clancy Brothers? Or were they Irish lads?

They were a good band but I never got into their music. If it was on the radio I listened but never bought any of their albums. Great countdown.
