Caught on the hop on video

It’s been baby kangaroo season for a while here. The little heads were just starting to emerge from bulging pouches as we were leaving for our holiday to the north of Western Australia.
When they first start being tipped out of the pouch, the joeys are very ungainly and I was very keen to get a video of the little ones learning to balance and to find their feet. However, most of the mothers don’t come close enough to the house for me to video their youngsters.
This morning, however, I did manage to capture some footage of the little one. It is quite strong and sturdy, not as young as I had hoped, but still very cute. Towards the end of the video, it comes almost onto the verandah and is only two metres from where I was peeking between the closed curtains.
The top photo is from last year and the joey is younger than the one I captured today.
The video is one minute 27 seconds long. I hope you enjoy seeing this little creature. The video is one minute 27 seconds long. I wonder what life holds for it?

That was great to watch I never realized that they are sort of kneeling when they are resting.

@BelleStarr Yes, this one is quite accomplished now. His mother was keeping a close eye on him.

Amazing! Thanks so much for posting the video. I still can't get over the fact that you have kangaroos in your yard. I guess they're as common to you as some of our animals are to us.

Sorry, youtube isn't available here.It is surely a precious video .How long do the joeys stay in the pouches before they start being tipped out of the pouch ?

I had no idea. I'll try to fix it but don't bother revisiting. I'm just glad you mentioned it.
