I know many members here in other countries have fish on a regular basis. Do you ever have it breaded and do you ever use tartar sauce on it or is that only an American thing?
The picture is breaded fish by van camp and gorton's and as I've gotten older I use tartar sauce on it which is a mixture of mayo and relish mainly.
How's that, Nevena?

When I was young I never ate tartar sauce but in recent years I began to want it. Now it's a staple.

I've also made fresh fish that comes in frozen from the stores and had several types. But this is easier.

Others also use the malt vinegar which I've never tried before.

@MarshaMusselman It is the way they eat fish and chips in England.

@BelleStarr ahh. Do they put the malt vinegar on the did fish too or just the chips? I wonder how much salt and vinegar chips here resembles the taste?

@MarshaMusselman Absolutely, you cannot compare the taste of those sold in stores.

Homemade tartar sauce would be much tastier I'm sure.

@just4him I don't do bearded much these days either but I'm trying to clear out my freezer and I've been losing weight so thought I'd be fine having it and I was.

@MarshaMusselman Breaded isn't in my diet. So, it's in the bags.

I enjoy flounder, shrimp, salmon, and grouper. Over the last few years I've gotten away from seafood that's breaded, however when having it that way, tartar sauce goes great!

I've heard of flounder but haven't had it I don't think. Grouper I don't think it's common over here.
I've had tilapia, cod, bass, perch, catfish which I expected to be gross but was actually quite good and some I don't recall. Salmon a little bit too.

@MarshaMusselman Tilapia is another favorite of mine. I've had catfish before. Lots of tiny bones to avoid while eating.

Do you bread your fish yourself or buy it pre-breaded?

Freshly caught it from the store but not prepackaged in that manner? I've made the latter from stores before too.

I've bought that breaded fish before, but not lately. Nope, I don't eat fried fish with tartar sauce.

We don't have it often but it's a quick meal. I'm trying to eat all the partial packages in my freezer.

@MarshaMusselman Jay loves the frozen French toast sticks. I can easily make French toast, but he still likes those for a quick breakfast.

We love English style fish and chips.
There is a place here in our city that does a great job and we used to order and pick it up.
It is lightly battered and we like a little vinegar on our fish.
I will do up fresh salmon, in fact I went out special today to pick some up, but they were such huge pieces that I left without any. I will pan fry our salmon and drizzle a mixture of maple syrup and vinegar over it the last few minutes.
